downrigger with stainless steel cable and weights
This is a used downrigger sold by Sears and Roebuck. It is in Very Good condition. It has a stainless teel cable. Im guessing 100-150' feet in length. I never unwrapped the cable myself and never used the downrigger. The cable looks like new. I aquired it when I purchased an estate sale and it was left in the garage. The downrigger has a foot meter that works fine and it also has a base plate for mounting through the side bulkhead of a boat. You can see the connecting screws and plate as seperated in the pics. The line swivel functions perfectly and it also has an attached big jon lure attachment. I placed a 12.5" ruler next to the downrigger to show its size. It is a little over two ft. long and a foot tall. the hand crank works fine. The reel has a tension screw or drag for releasing line and on the opposite side under the nameplate ... moreis the reel locking mechanism. I have also included in this sale at the buyers discretion, two 8 lb. line weights. These increase shipping costs somewhat so its the buyers choice on this. I have placed two shipping charges which include shipping the weights with the downrigger. If buyer does not want the weights, I can reduce shipping cost by $10. Shipping is to the lower 48 only. The weights are rubber coated and both eyes on the weights are in good shape. The total weight is just under 25 lbs for the downrigger and weights. Ive seen what these sell for new and the starting bid is well below that price. Im not sure of this units age but like stated earlier it is in very good condition. Canister is marked Nikor Products Co. U.S. Patents No. 2218727& No. 2073978. Springfield Mass, U.S.A. I picked this up for the cansister without realizing that it is actually for film developing. It appears as thought it is a heavy stainless steel tank with 2 120 reels. Since this is an item that I'm not very familiar with, please let the pictures answer your questions(I'm happy to help if there are others that need to be answered! The tank without lid is 6 1/8" tall with a diameter of 3 3/8" With the lid the tank is 7" tall. The lid fits snug on the canister.
