Old Surge Electric Fencer Farm Barn Cattle Hit Miss Gas Engine Sandwich Milker
This is a rather scarce original Surge fencer from the Babson Brothers Company in Chicago. IL. It is in excellent original condition with no cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind except for the small light bulb in the center of the bottom. I'm sure this would be an easy replacement. It is a very unusual design in that it has a glass bubble on it like an early electric meter. It measures about 6 inches in diameter and about 6 inches tall. The cord is a bit frayed so I didn't plug it in but I see no reason that it shouldn't work and it wouldn't be real tough to replace the cord. Surge is most noted for their dairy and milking equipment but also offered several livestock related items like this. They bought out the Sandwich Manufacturing company that made the engines and many other products including the Pine Tree milker. EAPG Whale Oil Lamp - Sandwich - Flint Glass
For auction today is this wonderful vintage whale oil lamp. There is no damage to the glass at all. It does show the expected base scuffs from years of being slid on a table top. The metal collar does have a small ding. But it accepts a font with no problem. This piece stands about 9 1/4" tall. There are six flat panel sides. Giving the lamp a faceted effect. I have seen this exact style of lamp attributed to the Sandwich Glass Company- but I am not an expert. So use your own best judgment. This is a no reserve auction.

Boston& Sandwich Pressed Ribbed Amethyst Match Holder 1 1/2" H. x 5" L. x 3 5/8" W. 1860- 1880 Ref: The Glass Industry in Sandwich(Barlow/Kaiser) Vol. 5. Page 85"A rectangular gallery with a scalloped rim and ribbed sides encloses a concave compartment for wooden matches laid lengthwise. The design of this match holder was the same as the famous Onion(Eaton) lamps that were mfg. at Sandwich. It is not known if this was intentional. As a perfect color match with the lamps has not been found. Regardless, these are quite rare and hard to come by in any color. This being the first one I have had in my possession as a collector and dealer for 45 years. It is in near perfection condition with one tiny nick on the bottom of one rib. An another tiny nick on a top rib. The color is outstanding.

Very heavy flint glass spooner(sometimes called spill vase) Hexagonal with diamond pattern. There are some bubbles trapped inside the glass, but none on the surface. Height: 5 1/9" Width: 3 5/8" Condition: Two diamonds chipped along mold line- not very noticeable(see pictures 4 and 5) roughness around inner rim and along mold lines. Here you go folks. Here's a nice looking set of Candle Holders. Each measures about 8 3/4" high. I believe them to be early Sandwich glass. There is a repair on the 1 top(see pic) but other than that, no chips or cracks. This set would make a nice addition to any collection. Thanks for looking, have fun and good luck bidding. This wonderful depression glass 3-footed plate is a nice topaz yellow and is in excellent condition with no chips. Cracks or repairs. It measures approx. 2" tall x 10 1/4" diameter. The rim is slightly cupped with a nice scalloped edging. Manufactured by Lancaster Standard Glass ~ 1930's and is known as Petal. Circa 1840 to 1870 lacy period clambroth' Pointed O val' and a clear'Paneled' child's toy mugs. Manufactured by the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company. Please reference Barlow and Kaiser Vol. 3 figures 3320 and 3324. Tumblers are 1 3/4" and 1 5/8" tall with 1 1/2" and 1 1/4" base diameters respectively. I believe both to be flint glass. Overall excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Has the usual bubbles, straw marks, and base wear. The clambroth example has some under-fill on the top rim and on the edge of the base. Also some small pieces of ash or unmelted glass and extra pieces of rough glass on the bottom. This piece also sits lopsided. As made.
