GIBSON J 45 VINTAGE ACOUSTIC GUITAR SCRIPT BANNER TRUSS ROD COVER
First let me say that I do not know anything about musical instruments. I am selling this for a friend. The guitar belonged to his Dad. It is a GIBSON. I believe it is a J- 45 and probably from the 50's or 60's. I have found pictures of acoustic guitars on the internet and this one looks like the Adjustable? or maybe Jubilee? I have no idea. Gibson is in script on the banner and there is a truss rod cover which still has GIBSON on it. I think that the top part of this guitar has been replaced or repaired. I have posted lots of pictures. There are quite a few scratches on the back side and on the pic guard. Please feel free to ask any questions about this guitar and I will try my best to answer them correctly. 1967 Martin D-35 Guitar Brazilian Rosewood D 28 35 18 41 45 42
Up for sale is a 1967 Martin D-35 Acoustic Guitar. This guitar is a second year production D-35 as this model only became available in 1965 as a result of the Brazilian rosewood shortage. This guitar is in very good plus condition. The first two years of D-35 production are the most sought after due to their small maple bridge-plates. In 1968. Martin beefed up the bracing on the back and sides and also added a huge rosewood bridge-plate that significantly degraded the sound on all Martins up through the 1980s. This guitar retains its sought after“patent pending” Grover Rotomatic tuners and it was still the practice in 1967 to use“Hide glue” on the tops and top bracing of guitars. The lighter quarter inch braces of the D-35 allow for a huge sound that was only possible before 1965 with a“Pre-War” Martin guitar. This model soon out sold the ... morestaple D-28 model because of the improvements to sound in a D-35. The rosewood on this guitar has a super nice grain as you can see in the pictures. The guitar has its original first year issue black pickguard and doesn’t appear to have had a neck reset or a new bridge installed. This is a classic on the mid-sixties Martin Guitar Company. I have this guitar priced at a huge discount from the $5500.00 to $6500 dollar asking prices usually seen on these guitar due to a few minor issues. The first is extra screw holes for open back tuners. Some players have been putting open back tuners on Martins with Grover tuners. So this guitar has extremely small hole right above each tuner. You don’t even see them while you are playing. But they are there and should be mentioned. The guitar also has a few top cracks behind the bridge. All have been repaired and sealed. But they are there. When the cracks were sealed the top was over sprayed a bit behind the bridge. But nothing major and the over spray could easily be waxed or rubbed off with the right compound. Gibson 1969 J-160E J-45 w/ pickup - Beatles model - All original w/ recent hsc
Here is a beautiful Gibson J-160E from 1969 in all original condition. These models are based on the J-45. But with a laminated top, ladder bracing, and, of course, a magnetic pickup mounted between the fingerboard and soundhole. The pickup works perfectly and has volume& tone knobs mounted on the top. This guitar has the height adjustable wooden saddle and screwed down pickguard that Gibson was using in the late 60's. The neck is straight with low, easy action and no fret buzzing. It seem that the frets were replaced at some time since there is very little wear on them and there is lots of height left on all of them. This guitar comes in a perfectly fitting newer Gibson hard case with an arched top. We will only ship to a verified Paypal address in the continental US.

At some point. The original owner installed two pickups, a 1/4" input jack, a pickup switch and 4 control knobs. This was well done and does not effect the integrity or stability of the guitar. 1954 Gibson J-50 19 fret model, very nice and clean! J-45 vintage guitar
Here is an exceptionally fine Gibson J-50. Neck block number X-69_ It has an early style 19 fret neck, and later style large pickguard on it, also original and from the factory. This guitar is in real nice shape, with some light checking and light playing wear. Headstock still has crisp corners, no breaks, and sports the original Kluson tuners with the original buttons. Nice shape neck, original nut and original frets with light playing wear. Great neck angle, original bridge with original saddle and pins- action is 7/64 to 5/64@ 12th fret. Body in very nice shape, common pickguard crack repair at soundhole, very tight and hardly noticable- see pic. Dime sized pro touchup at heel where strap button was removed, wouldn't see it unless someone pointed it out! Chip board case, has a slight arch to it and is red lined- not sure if it is original, ... morecould be, but period correct. 1942 Gibson J-45 Banner Head - Wartime Model w/ No Truss Rod - Very Early Issue
Vintage Wartime Era Gibson J-45 Circa 1942-43- Banner Headstock Logo- No Truss Rod SCROLL DOWN FOR 40 PHOTOS Up for bids is a real piece of guitar history. This is a super early issue Gibson J-45 from around 1942 or 1943. And it's in great playing condition. It has some of the interesting features found on Gibsons made during World War II, including a laminated maple neck with no truss rod and the'Only a Gibson is Good Enough' banner logo on the headstock. Some of the wartime J-45's were made with different woods, but this one appears to have the standard mahogany back and sides. I THINK the top is spruce, but as you can see the grain is a little unusual so I guess it could be maple. I'll let you look at the photos and decide for yourself. As for the year of manufacture, I'm inclined to think this is a late 1942 model ... morebased on the 907 factory order number and the fact that it has 5 layer top binding, not 3. Again, I'll let you look at the photos and decide for yourselves as Gibson dating is always a little subjective. Interestingly, in my research on this one I ran across several references to the fact that the J-45's from the 907 factory order batch seem to be unusually good sounding guitars and this one certainly backs that up. It's in very good shape for its age. There is a typical small crack between the soundhole and the end of the fingerboard, and a couple of small cracks at the edge of the of the pickguard(see close up photos) None of the cracks appear to have ever had any repair work done to them. There are the expected nicks and dings in the finish, all or most of which should be clearly visible in the photos. The tortoiseshell guard has a few cloudy spots. The top is nice and flat with no bulge, and the bridge is firmly attached with no gap. The neck is straight with easy playing action. I have read 1964-1966. But I am not an expert. This is the Japan Nippon Gakki Label. Serial number 461744. This is a NO RESERVE auction. Whatever the bid, the guitar will be sold. This is the first generation Yamaha classical guitar available in the USA. This is a very light guitar and is almost completely maple. It has the weight and feel of a flamenco guitar. Though the guitar is patterned after the German Hauser classical guitar in body shape and decoration. I have the Hauser classical plans, and this guitar is nearly identical in body length to the original Houser. The shape of the upper bout is very close to the Hauser. The lower ... morebout of the Yamaha is slightly wider in the upper curve than the Hauser. The Yamaha has a herringbone Rosette and 7-ply maple purfling. This guitar has a 5 fan brace pattern. The top is Spruce and the back is flamed maple. Sides are maple. Yamaha made the neck. Fretboard and bridge all out of Maple. The flat fretboard is lacquered as well, like a Fender Stratocaster. The bottom curve of the neck is not as flat as more recent Yamaha guitars. Yet the neck is well fitted for the smaller hand. The string width conforms to standard classical specifications, yet the fretboard width at the first fret is only 51.38 mm compared to the 53.90 mm of the newer Yamaha classical and 53.56 mm of my early model Yairi GF-250 flamenco guitar. The narrower neck makes for easy playability. The guitar appears to have been played very little. A touch of wear on the lacquer under the lower e string at the 5 th fret. But that is about it. I have owned this guitar for 3 years and I have had very little time to play the guitar. I don’t play much anyway. My spare time is actually spent building and repairing guitars. Gibson J-45 1948-49 in VG Condition
Up for sale is my Gibson J-45. FON 2900-14. Built in the late 40’s. This is one of the last of the small bridge J-45’s. In very good shape for a guitar of it’s age. Has a few old surface scratches here and there, but the instrument is very sound and in great playing condition. The action is lightning fast- I use it for fingerstyle folk and blues but it is amazing for fingerpicking or flatpicking. Super easy to play, and the vintage tone is unmatched. Great balance. I measure the nut at 1 3/4" The neck is comfortable, not super chunky like the early 40‘s Gibsons. The person I bought it from said there was a well-repaired crack in the lower bout; if that’s true I sure can’t see it. There may be a couple of spot finish touches in the distant past, hard to tell, otherwise all original finish. The nut and tuners appear original, tuner buttons ... moremay have been replaced. You’d be hard pressed to find fault with this guitar. Most of the vintage guitars I have played over the years have had a structural or playability issue of some kind. This one has no such issues and is a gem. Great recording guitar. This is the classic vintage J-45 that so many great artists have- Springsteen(his is a'51) Dylan, etc. This one is truly fantastic in every way. Comes with an $800 Calton flight case that I bought new. Priced to sell at $7,450 and you pay ACTUAL shipping cost(I used $275 only as an example) I recommend Fed Ex or UPS Air. Aluminum tube for the body of the gun and a pot metal end that will accept 2 heavy rubber bands.these rubbers were put together with a stainless steel"wishbone"and they were really a religous experience to load.just waithing for the wishbone to break and remove one of your finger nails.this gun had one of the rubbers attached to it, but was in bad condition.so I just removed the wishbone from the rubber.the aluminum body of the gun has holes on the bottom of it to let water out of this part of the gun.where the body connects with the handle and with the head of the gun.there has been electrolosis between the disimilar metals.still seems to be in working order.but if it planned to use it.I would either ... morecut off a couple of inches on either end of the tube or just replace the tube.the gun actually measures 41 1/2 inches long and when you measure from heel of gun handle to tip of spear shaft you have 48 inches.trigger works, safety works, line release works and on the shaft you have the bushing that holds the shaft straight in the gun.just add a couple of rubbers and a shock cords and you are ready to go.no reserve

This wonderful old family heirloom Gibson Sunburst was handed down to me from my Grandfather. Vice Admiral Roland N. Smoot. Admiral Smoot was the recipient of this guitar from the original crew of the USS Newport News in 1949 after finishing his command as it’s first captain. There is a plaque on the neck commiserating the event. see history below) My grandfather didn’t have much time to play it as he was busy defending the Taiwan Straights from the Red Chinese in the‘50’s and early 60’s. I was thrilled to take position of this beautiful guitar when I was fifteen years old. It was the second guitar I ever owned. It was my main“go to” guitar from 1965 till 1979. Most of the marks on it came from my rockin’ teen age years in the‘60’s and early 70’s. 2003 Gibson J-45 Rosewood
2003 Gibson J-45 rosewood for sale. Guitar is all original and in good shape. Could use a setup, has a couple issues, hence cheap price. First the guitar plays good and has a great tone and is playable as-is. Beautiful rosewood back and sides and spruce top. Gold grovers and pearl sj style inlay. Factory Bagg's pickup still sounds great, and works like new. As for the negatives: The guitar has a small 2.5 inch repaired crack on the lower side near the bottom bout(pictured in#7) The crack is cleated and tight. Also the action is slightly high(past the 12th fret) for my taste, it plays fine up the neck though. Also it plays good in standard tuning, but I prefer to tune my guitars down a step, and there is buzzing on the first fret( D,G strings) when tuned down. Those are the issues that I know of, the guitar plays good, and looks mint, ... morecomes with a non-gibson hardshell case. I recently bought this flagship Martin from the original owner who kept it in pristine condition. The guitar is 100% original and looks nearly brand new. The only blemish was a minor 3/4" seam separation just below the bridge that my luthier has glued and stabilized. MINT Fender Super Reverb'65 Reissue Amplifier Customization/ modification performed by legendary amp technician Bill Webb at Austin Vintage in Austin. Texas. Basically it is a resistor and cap mod, new tubes and swapping the tube rectifier for a solid state one to warm up the amp. You can just pop in a tube if you prefer that sound. This hybrid amp is going to sound better than any one you could get new. New this was $1750($1550 for the amp. $200 for mod) I acquired this beast on a trade. I am not a serious guitar player. These wheels are in excellent condition. Their only owner/rider a 110lb junior. On junior gears. These are the model just before EDGE became ENVE. The carbon tubular rims are 45mm deep and are laced to DT Swiss 240s hubs with DT Aerolite spokes, 24 two cross laced in the rear, 20 radial laced front. These wheels have literally never needed truing, and they were checked by the local shop.
