Christofle Port Royal Silver Spoon--Iraq War-Saddam Hussein's Bath Party symbol!
Hello everyone! Here is a rare opportunity to own an authentic War relic that I purchased in Iraq in August of 2005. It is a Christofle Port Royal Silver spoon that measures 8 1/8"s long. It is in mint condition and has Saddam's Bath party emblem engraved on it. This one is still in the original package. However. I opened it. I have a total of 35 pieces of Christofle Forks, Knives, and spoons so if your interested in them let me know. The last two pictures are the set right after I bought them in Iraq. I took them so that when I brought them back I would have proof that they were from Baghdad. The story I was told from the Iraq people is that after America went into Baghdad and overthrew Saddam Hussein and his military, people stormed Saddam Hussein's Palaces and museum and took back their country. Nearly all the items were taken ... moreby the people and the items went underground for several years. The reason being, the people were afraid that Saddam would eventually come back into power and punish anyone who didn't support him or stole from him. When the Iraqi people were finally convinced that Saddam was captured and not coming back, many of the items from his palaces started to surface and come up for sale. I was stationed in Iraq at the time and purchased this set from Vendors that were escorted onto the base. I always looked at it as a good thing because the people took back what was rightfully theirs in the first place and in some small way made some of the money back that Saddam had taken from them. I was told Saddam marked all of his valuable with a symbol to protect his investments. If you were caught with Saddam Hussein items in your home he would cut your hand off for stealing so to make sure he could identify his stuff each set was marked with a symbol to signify its ownership and where it came from. This is a lovely container. On the bottom there is a crown symbol and it says: Handpainted- Delfts Blawu- Made in Holland. On one side the dark blue painting is of a windmill with flowers around it. On the other side the dark blue painting is of sailboats with flowers delicately painted on it. I suspect it is a planter. But it could be used for a serving dish too. It measures about 5 3/4" in diameter and 3 3/4" high. It is in excellent condition. But for minor crazing in the inside which appears to be normal for these vintage pieces.

1998 EMB Signed w Symbol POTTERY 5.5" BOWL w Hand Painted Design Up for sale is a vintage 1998 hand crafted pottery bowl. It is signed with an interesting symbol on the bottom. I believe the signed initials are EMB. The bowl is a bronze brown. It's approx. 5.5" in diameter and less than 2" tall. The rim has 2 teeny pits in the glaze but otherwise all is in nice condition with no chips. Cracks or breaks. Please note that my shipping time is up to 5 business days as I have multiple jobs and can only ship one day a week. If you happen to purchase after I return from the post office on shipping day it will be a full week wait until I am able to ship again. But most people will have a much shorter wait and some will have very fast shipping. No one will have to wait more than 5 business days. Thank you for understanding.
