P US Hobbies Katsumi(KTM) Union Pacific 4-8-8-4 Big Boy Prototype Notes: The Union Pacific Big Boys were the largest steam locomotives built. Starting in 1941 Alco built 25 of these monsters numbered from 4000 to 4024 for the Union Pacific's Wasatch grades. These were based on their successful 4-6-6-4 with extra drive axles added to each engine. These engines were over 135 ft long and weighed in ay 1.2 million pounds. They were reknown for the pulling power AND Speed. Their 68" drivers could handle freight at 70 plus MPH. Many of these engines have been saved from the scrappers torch for display. The biggest news is that#4014 is in the process of being restored for operation by the Union Pacific. Rounding out their operational heritage fleet. This undertaking is"HUGE" and has ensured that the Big Boy will live on in US ... morehistory. Model Notes: US Hobbies is the successor to the Max Gray line of imported brass locomotive models in 2 rail O Scale. Rge model dates to around 1970 and was built by KTM(Katsumi) of Japan. KTM is a premier builer of Oscale models known for its super robust construction and operation. Features: All drivers powered. Precision Engineering and construction. Excellent Level of Detail. Condition: This model was only test run and displayed. Shows no signs of use or abuse. It is a little dusty from display. I lubed and tested the model and it runs perfectly. Only downside is a slight dent(about 1/4 inch across) in the tender on the reight side near the top. One of the photos shows this clearly. Otherwise no parts are loose or missing. The original box shows some shelf wear but is otherwise intact as well as the internal packing. Shipping. This model is HUGE and HEAVY. The engine and tender alone weigh in at 17 pounds. The empty carton weighs 6 pounds. An outer carton with other packing will add another 3 to 4 pounds. So Shipping cost is not cheap! Overseas shipping will also be commensurate with this weight and size. As a result I cannot offer free shipping on such a heavy item.

This Dietz UNION Driving Lamp has a rear red lens and can be side-mounted on both sides of the lantern to allow it to serve as either a left or right headlight. Dietz Union Driving Lamp, Brass Trim, Great Original Condition
Dietz Union Driving Lamp. Brass Trim, Great Original Condition THIS IS A GUARANTEED GENUINE ANTIQUE DIETZ"UNION" DRIVING LAMP. It has a spring attachment. Which would fit over the dashboard of a buggy or even an early automobile. It likewise has openings on both the left and right sides for permanent mounting on a bracket or a"Y" supporter. Its last patent date is 1907(JAN-22-07" and that date fits easily into use for horse-drawn or horseless carriage. It stands approximately 11 inches tall. The lens is intact; there are some scuffs in its center, but no chips, cracks, or breaks. The bezel is brass, and the remainder of the lamp is ferrous metal in black paint which appears to be original. It has the usual scuffs and small dents consistent with its age, as well as a few specks where white paint was spilled on it. ... moreThere is minor rust on the upper vent, as well as on unpainted surfaces on the bottom and the font. The interior(including the reflector) is clean. I suspect the interior has been repainted at some point in its history. The font removes easily, and the wick adjustment knob turns freely. It is a very nice specimen! If there is damage in shipping. This must be pursued through an insurance claim. After that is settled, assuming notification is made within the inspection period, the lamp can be returned. Should you be disappointed with it, or simply change your mind, you have a 14 day inspection period during which the item can be returned for any reason as long as it is in the same condition in which I shipped it. There is rust on the bottom, which isn't visible when displayed. This tag is white brass, with an uneven patina. The LOF logo is embossed across a field with a diagonal banner. Nice detail for a name badge! The pin on the back is good. It looks like an older pin style. There is a slot for an employee number, which has a backing and slide slots to add a number label. The back is stamped with the old Sheet Metal Workers symbol and other makers' symbols that I can't read. The badge measures about 1 5/8" x 1 3/8" Nice example of old brass. Imprinted on both sides with"Union Pacific RR" and the contours of a locomotive. In very good condition with no large dents or scratches. This spittoon has been left unpolished but it has a nice patina indicative of age. A little rust on the interior bottom but otherwise clean. Measures 9 inches wide at top and 11 inches tall. This is a great and RARE spittoon. There are many replicas made of this but this ONE IS ORIGINAL from the RR. It is in great shape for its age and was clearly used. I have chosen not to clean it to shows its original condition but the brass would clean just fine if you chose to do that. This is about 11 inches high and pretty lightweight. A great item and collectable.
