A cool old United Steel Workers of America(Union made) wall sconce that is in good working condition. It is made of cast metal(brass? with stamped tin and brass wall mount and shade holder. There is some surface rust to the wall mount and some wear to the stamped brass. But the blue-grey paint on the cast piece looks great. It may, or may not need a little touch up and/or rewiring. Here is a neat old brass tag from the Alaska Gastineau Mining Company which was located in Thane( Juneau) Alaska. I have posted a photo from the Internet to show what the mill looked like. The mining company was in operation from the around 1910 until 1934 when it was sold out to the Alaska Juneau Mining Company. These brass tags were used as a system to identify who was underground in the mine during the shift. The miner would"brass- in" at the beginning of the shift on the surface. And would also carry an identical brass tag with him while working. The reason for this, other than identifying who was on shift, was to serve as a system to identify the body of a miner in the event of an accident or disaster, or to aid in rescue attempts by ... moreshowing who was still in the mine. We still use the same system in the mines today. This is a great little piece of Alaska mining history that is affordable and doesn't weigh nearly as much, or take up as much room as the machines this guy used to break rock! This is a brass spittoon used on the Union Pacific Railroad. It has the Union Pacific RR imprint on both sides. It has some wear and a natural patina as seen in photos. The spittoon has a weighted bottom made from a steel insert and it is rusted. It also looks like someone tried to clean it at one time. The spittoon measures 10" tall x 9" wide. Civil War era Union Navy Brass Buckle with BELT Attachments on leather belt
Civil War era Leather belt with UNION US Navy Belt Buckle with attachments Acquired at Estate Sale The leather belt is well worn to the point of falling apart. The belt buckle and the attachments appear almost pristine with very little oxidation. There are markings on the inside belt clip holder that I am unable to make out. It is said that the fake/ reproductions can be told by the clip on the back of the buckle being cast with the buckle at the same time. Originals were attached seprately. ANTIQUE MARKED "TIFFANY & CO 1861" CIVIL WAR UNION BRASS HORSE CAVALRY SPURS- NR
Up for auction is an authentic pair of Civil War brass spurs made by Tiffany and Co. of New York for the Union Army. I got these at an antique fair in Florida so I don't have any history on them. My limited research found that Tiffany supplied the Union Army with swords. Spurs, and flags, among various other things. I believe that these may be Officer's spurs. I found a similar pair of spurs. At least according to the description, displayed at the New York Historial Society Museum and Library. Their summary of those spurs can be found by googling Tiffany and Co spurs. Each spur is stamped TIFFANY& CO. on one side of the band and 1861(which would be the date that they were made) on the other. So they were made fairly early in the Civil War. The heel openings are 3-1/8" on one spur and 3-1/4" on the other and about 3-1/2" ... moredeep. The rowels have a lot of points and are 3/4" in diameter. They both spin freely. The spurs are basically in pretty good condition for their age but there is a condition issue that should be mentioned. The metal is all intact and solid and the stamped marks are clearly visible. But there is a coating of a flat black material over the brass on the bands. Although not on the rowels. And there are also a few small areas of orangish color on the bands. The brass does peek through in several places. I originally thought that the spur bands might have been painted. But then it occurred to me that the spurs could have been in a fire at some point in time during their 153 years of existence. Maybe even during a Civil War battle- there is no way to know for sure. I did not attempt to remove whatever this coating might be and left the residue on the spurs. This rare. Antique piece is from the Army and Navy Union, which was founded in 1886 and is the oldest Veteran's organization in the United States. It measures 7" in diameter and is made of brass. It bears the military insignia's of Engineering, Cavalry, Navy, Infantry, Marine Corps and Artillery. I'm not certain as to it's age but, it has do be nearing one hundred years of age, and I was told by a military collector that it may be pre WWI. I honestly don't know. Two vintage brass and glass wall light fixtures. Both are wired and have working switches. I tested both and they both work. Decal says" Inspected electric fixture issue AA-66176 E 12540" and second decal says" Union- American Federation of Labor" Wheat pattern. Brass measures 7" X 4 1/2" Slightly larger with glass shades attached. Each attaches with working thumb screws. The shades are thick= 1/8" One surface chip on the inside of one of the shades. NO CRACKS. Slight surface scratches on some of the white inside glass frosting. These will be very nice restored. VERY OLD! Sold as is. Thanks for bidding!

Beautiful Coach Yard Brass Union Pacific Passenger "Pacific" Budd 10-6 Sleeper
Hey guys! Today I'm putting up a collection of my Union Pacific Coach Yard Brass passenger cars. This one is a passenger sleeper coach that ran specifically in the 1956 City of Los Angeles(Car 9)This piece is in beautiful condition. As you can see from the pictures it's been out of the box but only to be tagged previous to these pictures. Most of my items that I'm posting have all been tagged with a paper tag identifying the year it was run and which city it would've been seen in. I think most modelers would prefer the tags be left included so I didn't remove them. Each tag is paper with a cloth string that can easily be removed, absolutely NO damage(sticky residue) will be present because I didn't use stickers to tag the items. Please look closely through the pictures and feel free to ask any questions. The 4000 series of UP consisted of 25 engines and were considered by many as the largest steam engines ever built. These Alco built huge engines were capable of hauling large tonnage without helper engines over the Wasatch Mountain arduous grades of over 1.1 percent between Ogden Utah and Green River Wyoming. While these 1.200,000+ pound brutes could travel at speeds as high as eighty miles per hour, they were able to produce constant maximum power at 70 MPH! They were perhaps the UP’s most important factor during the heavy WWII wartime freight traffic. FEEF was the class for the Overland Route as it was an acronym for four-eight-eight-four. The model is can motor powered and we do not see the headlight as working.
