VERY RARE - ORIGINAL CIVIL WAR ISSUED UNION BRASS SPUR - BEAUTIFUL PATINA
Civil War regulation brass spur. It is complete and still has the iron rowel. Which spins easily. The width of the spur is 3" and it is 5 1/4" long. This spur is typical of what was used by and issued to the Union cavalry. It has definite signs of use but not beaten up or bent, as many examples are. The aged patina on the brass is simply beautiful. never being cleaned! It would almost be impossible to upgrade on this spur and it is worthy of the finest Civil War or Cavalry collection. Up for bid is the vintage/antique CAST IRON COUNTER PLATFORM"UNION SCALE" with Single NICKEL PLATED BRASS BEAM. From my research, I believe this scale was made by either Fairbanks Co. or Gurneys and could date back as far as the late 1800's.but my best guess would be right around the late 1920's or early 1930's. I searched high and low, from above and under.I see no visible maker's marks. I do see some VERY faint evidence of handpainted text/designs at the sides of the platform BUT they are completely illegible. I am still quite new to antique scales& balances but from what I can tell. This scale is complete and fully functional. 2 US Army CIVIL WAR Brass Belt Buckles 1851 Allegheny Arsenal Eagle & Union "US"
No Reserve! These are two heavy brass Civil War belt buckles. Both are mounted on a velvet-covered board. I tried without success to remove them from the backing. But gave up for fear of damaging the buckles. The top buckle is oval in shape and has raised letters that say"US" It measures 3-1/4" x 2-18" It shows some small dings and wear. But has a nice patina and is still solid and intact. The bottom buckle is the 1851 Pattern Allegheny Arsenal design with an eagle in the center under a banner(now illegible) and flanked by wreaths. Most of the silver has worn off the wreaths. But it is still visible in the creases. This buckle measures 3-14" x 2" It, too, shows some wear- the edges on the designs have been worn over time and, as mentioned, most of the silver on the wreaths is missing. Vintage Brass Fly Reel Union Hardware and NDRYX 1915 Reel
Two nice vintage casting reels. The brass one measures about 3" across. Marked"No 7110 Mfd by Union Hardware Company Torrington CT. A nice one with a strong click and good function. The second reel is a very small 2 1/2" reel. Metal body(nickel) with some scrapes and I think I'll call it pitting in the old finish. Bottom of foot is marked"80" or"08" The top of the foot has stampings but they are difficult to read, One side seems to say"NDRYX" and the other side has patent dates: March 21 1915 and then"July" and I can't read what is after it. Functions and clicks but some drag. Probably needs a good cleaning and oiling. I am not a reel expert but email me with questions.

Some are brass and some are some kind of fiberboard or maybe leather. These would look great in a garage or man cave. They could easily be mounted on a board or in a frame. Because of the need to carry heavier loads than simple passenger coaches. The cars featured three axle trucks. The model is of the car as it was delivered.
