This is a nice Abbotwares table top radio. I think these were made in the 1940's. It is a pretty large saddle horse standing on a base. I spent $90.00 on having it repaired. It needed cleaning and a couple of tubes. It works great. No scratching or static. Great sound and volume. It seems to have been some sort of old desk that opens up to store papers. A friend of ours suggested that it may have been a civil war era box used by an army commander to hold papers and then spread them out when it was time to use them, and put away for easy storage and transportation. We have not been able to verify this. The desk is in good shape overall. But does have some wear and tear to it. Some of the dovetail joints, all of which are hand cut, are coming loose, and one side is missing the trim at the bottom. The base measures 20 3/4" by 26 1/2" Measures 13 3/4" tall at highest point. Lid measures 15 3/8" by 27 1/4" Inside has several compartments and ... morea storage drawer. Bottom piece of the lid has a small ridge to keep things from sliding off. Classic 1949 Motorola 10VT24R table top 10” TV. Cosmetics are very nice overall. Comes with often missing back, AC cord and all-original knobs. Refinished wood cabinet is nice overall; there are stained-over veneer chips around the side/bottom edges. The section around the knobs is in great shape, the framed wood front and reverse painted safety glass are both still nice as well. As can be seen in the 41 pictures below, the cabinet and trim display well, one of the nicer looking Motorola table sets. The chassis has been partially recapped at one time; both picture and audio are working somewhat at this time. See picture below of Betty Davis best I could adjust it. It will no doubt need more work for continued use, I am selling it as-is. I bought it this way, I do not repair TV’s, I only collect them. Vintage Folk Art Hand Painted Tabletop Screen
This vintage(1920-30's) folk art type hand-painted wooden tabletop screen is available for auction. I believe it is of this era due to the history of the previous owner& also because of the style of the painting. The screen is about 15" x 13" It is wood about 1/8" in depth. The screen has 2 hinged ends that fold backward when the screen is standing. The hinges have been attached with small nails. The screen is painted in light blue with a lady in a yellow dress in the flower garden. This screen is in fair condition with some wear from age& use. The nails of the hinges have worn through the wood in several places. There is some spotting on the painted portion of the screen. Please contact me with any questions.
