The item on offer is a Bausch& Lomb Greenough type stereo binocular microscope. By comparison with pictures in the literature I believe this is the model BKT-5. Likely manufactured in the 1940's. The inclined binocular head has a diopter adjustment to one ocular as well as an interpupillary spacing adjustment. The optical components consist of a pair of B&L 15X wide field oculars and five B&L objective pairs: 0.7X, 2X, 3X(two of this objective pair) and 7.5X. The 0.7X objective is built into the precision drum that permits selection of mounted objectives; the other objectives slide into position on the drum via a dovetail mount. There is an extra pair of B&L 15X oculars. The stage is clear glass, and there is a set of wrist rests that attach to the edges of the stage. The large mirror is concave on one side and is fitted ... morewith a diffuse white reflector on the other side. The entire upper part of the microscope frame, with stage, can be removed from the foot and mirror by removal of two thumb-screws. The cosmetic appearance of the microscope is very good, noting some wear and discoloration on the shaft of the focus knobs. The case is in good condition, noting that the back has an age split. AO Spencer Cycloptic Stereo Microscope w/ Base & Illuminator- Parts/Repair
I have an AO Spencer Stereo Microscope which I believe is called a Cycloptic. I believe it is an"M" Series. It has an apochromatic common objective and comes with a pair of 15X W.F. eyepieces which give 5 power options- 10. 15, 20, 30, and 40 through the Magni-Changer lens system which has internal pairs of lenses or"telescopes" The scope is said to be parfocal, but small adjustments are needed for each power setting. Included is a removable Transilluminating Substage Base without the mirror that is held on by 2 screws at the back. And it comes with a Starlite Illuminator, model 651 with adjustable brightness settings. This is missing the flexible arm, bulb housing, and condenser unit. When plugged in the orange light on the front of the box lights up, but the illuminating bulb does not. The scope is also missing a circular ... moreplate for the stage. Cosmetically the scope shows some wear to the grey paint. The main problem is the 2 images don't align properly so they have to be re-aligned. Other than that all the optics look excellent. Kyowa Tokyo Stereo Microscope Model KIS-8, Case, Extra Eyepieces, Parts/Repair
This is a Kyowa. Tokyo Model KIS-8 Stereo Microscope serial number- 670842. It has a pair of Kyowa 8X eyepieces and 3 double objectives marked- 1X, 3X, and 6X. They all look clean and clear. The eyepiece mounts adjust for eye separation by rotating and they are connected so rotate in opposite directions together. The objectives rotate smoothly and click stop solidly. The focus turns a little stiff so probably needs cleaned and re-lubricated. The stage has a black and white reversible round plate and both retainer clips. The problem is the eyepiece prism housings are missing screws that hold the tops on. Only 1 of the 3 it has look original and it needs at least 3 more. It sounds as though at least 1 of the prisms is loose and the dual images don't align correctly. So it probably needs the screws to hold the eyepieces in their correct ... morealignment before the image alignment can be completed. My eyes automatically pull the images together when viewing through the 1X objectives, but the 2 images get farther apart at the higher magnifications. Other than that the scope shows slight use wear. It comes with a good wood case with all 4 rubber feet attached and a pair of caps and slip-on eyepiece light shields. The case handle is there however its 2 mounts are missing. There are some old hard masking tape remnants on the case and there is no door lock key either. An inspection certificate also comes with it stating what model the scope is, optical performance and the date- 1968. So overall this is a microscope needing a little repair to use or can be used for good parts. I ship to US addresses only. No local pick up. I don't end auctions early or use Buy-it-Now. 1949 Leitz Wetzlar stereo microscope. Made in Germany
Hello all. Up for bid is this excellent 1949 Leitz Wetzler stereo microscope. The serial number is 413552 which dates it to 1949. It is an intensely well made microscope to say the least. Of course it was made in Germany. All knobs and operation are smooth and seem precise to me. But I really do not know what half of the stuff is here. It may need to be cleaned and professionally taken care of. I do not know. It has the original box. But the leather handle broke off of it due to age. Easy to replace and the original is in the case. This microscope may be for collectors and/or users. It is a beauty. It has an electric light source but I have no clue how to place the light source so I could examine anything under the scope. I do not know if the electric light source is original to the microscope or some kind of addition. It has an extra box ... morewith 4 eye pieces(red box) and another box for holding glass slides that is empty but looks like it holds standard glass plates. The black tubes with lids are empty. I think they are for holding lenses. Not sure. Anyway. If you wish to contact me and can instruct me. I can then test the microscope further for your satisfaction. This is the way I found it. This is a nice Planapochromat 1x objective lens for the Olympus SZH and SZH10 stereomicroscopes. It has a small 3mm scratch on the bottom surface of the glass. However. I put this objective lens on an Olympus SZH microscope and looked at an image and you do not see the scratch at all. IT DOES NOT DEGRADE THE IMAGE IN ANY WAY. However. Like a lot of people, I do not want to have a lens with a scratch on it in my inventory, so I am selling it on eBay and let the market drive the price. This unit has Incandescent Top and Bottom Illumination Magnification Power is 10X to 30X. Unit has been tested to work as intended. Both lamps work as intended. Ideal for the lab, experimentalist, dissection. What is unique about this unit is the fact you can magnify specimens from above with the above illumination as well as conventional slides. This was owned by a Med Student who took good care of her equipment. Item is clean and as pictured in very good condition. Item is first packed in it's original formed Styrofoam case. Then is it packed with a combination of cardboard and additional Styrofoam peanuts. So your Microscope should arrive safely. Item requires assembly of the magnification head which requires no hand ... moretools, just one hand screw in the base. Tighten and that's it. Item is to work as intended and arrive safely. This Leica GZ6 Stereo Microscope has 10x eyepieces. A focus mechanism with the standard 5/8" pin mount(E Arm) and the camera port attachment, part# 13410301, with a c mount part# 13410306. The zoom drive gears have been replaced with metal drive gears.
