Steampunk 1900s IRON Steel Brass GAS FIREPLACE INSERT REZNOR Orthoray Rare Vtg
Steampunk: The gas line could be used for the electrical line coming into the device and two brass balls could be removed and pipes could be connected to those square tubes to form the base for a double-sided steampunk lamp. The weight of the entire device would be sufficient to hold a nice size light fixture. Height about 24 inches. Width about 22 inches. Depth about 12 inches. The cast? iron/ steel appears to be in good shape. One of the finials on the left side- the brass ball- is cracked. The old ceramic inserts in the fireplace are not perfect. One is cracked in two and one does not appear to be the same as the others. We do not know if the inserts are original. But that should not detract from the beauty of this very old and interesting piece. Inserts are easily replaced. Antique Table Top Gas Brass Lamp
Up for your consideration is this vintage table gas lamp. It appears to be constructed totally from brass except the bottom cast iron base. This lamp was hooked into the house gas system in the 1800's via a rubber flexible hose and used on a tabletop. Quite innovative at the time. Back then the gas used in houses was actually gasified coal. I'm not sure how complete this lamp is. The glass shade is missing. The lamp operated by turning the middle knurled bulbous piece which turned on the gas. It was then lit and adjusted for flame intensity using the same adjuster. Here are two vintage Amoco Oil items. First is a brass belt buckle. Buckle has the Amoco Oil logo and says Quality Leadership since 1889. The back says Kansas City District June 17. 1989. The card it came with says"This buckle has been cast from 100% solid brass. Then finished in a painstaking seven-step process and finally hand polished to a beautiful luster. Photo makes the buckle look strange but it is beautiful. Next is a Amoco gas station give away matchstick pen.
