They measure about 6 5/8 inches by 4 5/8 inches. They show some rust on them. They would make a fantastic addition to any collection. VINTAGE S.I.R. JAPAN SPINNING ROD - 9'6" with extra tip section - priced 2 sell
Estate sale find. You are bidding on this S.I.R. fishing tackle Co. Japan 2 piece ocean spinning rod that has an extra identical tip. I'm not familiar with this model but the darn thing has plenty of action. Total length is 9'6" and the largest guides are 1 1/2" in diameter. There are 2 labels but only one is readable. No issues with any of thew wraps as all are tight and no fraying. The eyelets could stand a good cleaning and there is virtually no boat rash at all. The handle section is 49" and each tip section is 65" in total length. When I put the tips to the handle I notice plenty of" Whip Action" and as I said. Very lively. It has been used only a few times as you can see from the photos. I have a lot of rods(more than 50) and occasionally i sell someone. This auction is for an Orvis Impregnated Battenkill 6 1/2 ft. 2pc. 1 tip(made that way) fly rod. This rod casts a 4 or 5 wt. line very nicely and is in very good to excellent condition. The cigar shaped cork grip does show the beginning signs of ridging, but is structurally in very good condition. The reel seat is walnut with downlocking mechanism. The rod sock has a very small hole worn in the bottom where the rod has poked through, and can be very easily sewn closed. The ferrules fit very snug, and make a strong pop noise when pulled apart.
