1960's era Harmony H400C 3 tube guitar amplifer in above average condition with new capacitors and grounded power cord for safety. This is a lightweight practice amp that has a nice mellow tube sound but can be pushed into overdrive for a bluesy grunt sound. There are inputs for 3 instruments more than enough volume for a small room or stage. It uses a 12AU6. 35W4 and 50C5 which are easily available and reasonably priced. This one has the original Harmony label tubes and was lightly used and shows very little wear. The clear glass tubes have an inside diameter of 7" and the length of the tube is 36" All of the tubes. Except two, are in good condition. It has a crack and I did my best to show it in the photos. Also one of the other tubes has some very slight chipping to the very edge, but it still functions fine. The shelving is on casters that have seen better days but are still functioning. Stromberg- Carlson Made in the USA Model 1210-H"COURIER" Tabletop Console Tube Radio This is a GREAT sounding old tube radio! It looks a little rough on the outside but the insides have been gone through and repaired(new filter-capacitor and tuner tube replaced with RCA new old stock) by a Radio-TV technician with lots of tube experience. The amp uses a 6V6 power tube and puts out about 10 watts. The heavy wood cabinet and 6 inch 8 ohm speaker deliver a lot of warm punchy sound with great bass response. This unit measures 24"w x 13"d x 11"h and weighs 33 pounds. The speaker grill and cloth are in great shape. The knobs are intact and the lighted dials all work. The band selection knob has 4 positions. 2 FM bands. An AM band and the phono input position. This should be an easy restoration and will make a fine addition to your collection, I'd keep it and restore it but I have way too much stuff to keep it all and no room left. The amplifier has been setup with a Audio-GD Sun HDAM. OpAmp LM4562, and WE396A tube mods. Those three things made the sound significantly better. Especially the two opamp mods. She was initially powered by a triple expansion steam engine with 3 coal fired water tube boilers and could carry 16,000 tons at her maximum mid-summer draft of 22’11” contained in 4 holds fed by 18 hatches. Carrying 14.650 tons of coal for Duluth, the Harry Coulby departed on her maiden voyage from Lorain on Sept. 10, 1927; returning with 13,731 tons of iron ore, a record for a U.S. carrier to date. She set and reset records over a 15 year period in regular competition with the L. E. Block, a 621’ carrier also built in 1927. On July 1. 1940; she loaded 16,067 tons of iron ore at the C. This is a really nice Vintage military vacuum tube voltmeter. I plugged it in and The unit powers up and the white and red lights light up when I move the toggle switch. It has the probes and even some extra fuses and bulbs. The outside covers have some paint and l rust but inside is really nice. Up for bid is this beautiful little Airline Model 150 6-tube. 1-band tube radio. The cabinet has been refinished in a gorgeous 2-toned purple and lavender with black swirls. The case was clear coated and buffed to a super smooth and shiny finish. These colors work very well together. The dial and lens are in wonderful condition and the back is present and in pretty good shape. The chassis has had a complete rebuild with caps and filters replaced. Vintage Pilot Pilotuner Model T601 from 1947. The unit is in good shape with some light scratches. The plastic cover for the display is loose. But in very good shape. There is a repair made to the front, as it looks like a piece of the veneer chipped off, and was glued back on(see pictures) It's a little noticeable, but someone who's good with a furniture marker could probably make it unnoticeable. Also, the left knob falls off easily because there's an metal insert missing in the knob. There is a cable with a jack to hook this unit up to another radio which seems to be original. This unit is being sold as is due to the condition of the attached original cord. It is frayed, and has a repair made to it, and should be replaced before this unit is plugged in for testing. The lovely multiple veneer wood and solid wood. The detailing is fabulous. Philco introduced their fabulous cabinet in March of 1934. And with some Marketing hype direct from Philco. At Last! A radio that truly meets the modern demand for performance. A superheterodyne receiver PLUS balanced units PLUS balanced tubes. Remember, superheterodyne is not enough. It takes Philco's BALANCED superheterodyne to meet the modern demands of crowded broadcasting conditions" The Philco model 48 series uses a 4-tube chassis. A 77 pentode as local oscillator and mixer, a 77 as 2 nd detector and 1 st audio amplifier. A 42 pentode power output amplifier and 80 full wave ... morerectifier. The radio is a superheterodyne with an IF frequency of 460 kHz. And has the 550 to 1,600 kHz. Dimensions are 12” wide x 14” high x 8” deep. The cabinet might have been refinished but even the front looks very original and the sides and top look like the original Philco finish too. It might be just a stain wipe down(Old English) The radio has been restored electronically. With all tubes tested and those at or below minimum transconductance replaced with NOS tubes, many capacitors and all electrolytics replaced, resistors out of tolerance also were replaced and volume control and switches cleaned and lubricated. The AC power cord is a plastic replacement. The speaker appears original and in good condition and sounds great. The radio has undergone a full RF and IF alignment and plays beautifully and it’s very sensitive too.

Western Electric World War I VT-3 Prototype Vacuum Tube OR ????
balltube.txt WORLD WAR I VT-3 DEVELOPMENTAL PROTOTYPE VACUUM TUBE? Looks rather like a Western Electric VT-1. But it's NOT a VT-1. It has an extremely fine"spring" type filament which lights up brightly on only 1 Volt. And. The filament is stretched HORIZONTALLY between two posts, about half way between the top and bottom of the conventional VT-1 type"ladder" grid structure, unlike the inverted V-shaped design of the VT-1. According to Gerald Tyne's"Saga of the Vacuum Tube" The VT-3 was designed to have"the lowest possible filament power requirement, for use in battery-operated trench sets" The tube on offer here would certainly appear to to have been designed for very low filament power. It also appears to have been constructed using a bulb and base similar to those used by Western Electric ... morefor their VT-1 and VT-3 tubes. However, this tube does not have the same plate structure as the VT-3 shown in Tyne's book. SO WHAT IS IT? I really don't know. When I posted photos of it on a popular antique radios forum. Some very knowledgeable folks there suggested that it is either a Western Electric developmental prototype or a"pirate" knock-off of their popular VT-1. As there are no visible markings on the base or the bulb, I can't guarantee the"pedigree" This tube has a GOOD FILAMENT and evidently still has GOOD VACUUM. Since it lights without burning up, but I have not tested it further and cannot guarantee its performance. Excellent cosmetic condition: no rattles. Cracks or loose stuff in the bulb. I don't know if that has been done. It has copy of it's original operating manual and a copy it's original seldom used tubes list. All exposed brass hardware was hand polished.Painted and then coated with a clear lacquer finish to prevent tarnishing. Radio is missing one original knob.This radio has been restored electronically with all tubes and resisters being checked and replaced as needed. All new modern capacitors were installed for better reliability,performance and tube longevity.
