Here is another true vintage item from our collection of early American made items. This gauge is intended to express the density of sugar in solutions for wine and beer recipes. A saccharometer of this vintage is made of glass and has lead weight granules in the tip. No damage to the piece and was examined under magnification for any faults. The woolen stuffing fibers at the tip are the only appearance to the used condition of this hydrometer. The photo#2 will show the range of 0-5-10-15-20 and calculations to the red line would have to be determined by percentage. Shows as 60*degrees temperature for safe use. Chiller/heater, appears to be in good cosmetic condition, although there are a few small dings, scratches, signs of previous use. Please look at the photos. I started with connecting the outlet port to the inlet port with a piece of tubing(not included) then adding 5 liters of 25.6°C water. Next I set the temperature for 2°C(to avoid freezing) and turned the unit on. The unit powers-up, circulates smooth& quietly. In about 1 hour the temperature had gone from 25.6°C down to 2°C. Next I set the temperature for 80°C and let it run. In about ½ an hour the temperature had gone from 2°C up to 80°C. This is the only testing that has been performed. You are bidding on a used but in excellent condition Corning PC-620D digital hotplate and stirrer. This unit was used for less than one month by the owner- too big for his use and needed to save space. The top plate measures approx. 10" x 10" and is cosmetically very clean. The hotplate can reach temperature of up to 550C and boil 1 liter of water in about 15 minutes. The temp. probe(comes with clamp and holder) works also and can control temp. up to 200C. The stirrer works great and at all settings. You will not be disappointed with this unit.
