This belonged to my father and I always assumed it was a real antique phone and i still think it is but I just saw the same thing listed with 18 bids. FYI, that states its a phone or a candlestick? So now I'm confused. Everything looks so authentic and antique. I still feel like it's the real thing but I'll leave that up to you. It has a pat. Pending date Jan 14 1913 i think on one part then around the base it Jan. 26 1915. Then the end of the heavy ear piece/knob has some writting but my eyes are just able to read it. Offered here is this rare. Original. circa 1920 table top, decorative globe and figural hinged case designed to cover an early candlestick telephone. The figure of a woman in a flowing dress and putto reaching around the globe are nicely modelled in the surface. They are are allegorical for what the phone was capable of. The case is made of some kind of hard composition material and is hinged in the center. The surface is gilded and polychromed. Original brown felt pad on the bottom. Marked on the bottom rim: Copyrighted L.C. Mayer. It measures about 14" tall and approximatley 9 1/2" in diameter. Excellent condition with only a few ribs to the painted finish. Up for auction is a Vintage ITT orange wall mount rotary telephone. The condition appears to be fair but since I do not have phone service in my home. I can not test it to determine if it works or not. This telephone is an estate sale find and selling it AS IS. The telephone has sticker residue, scratches, some exposed wires and cord feels some what sticky. Also, the gray cord that goes to the wall is broken at the end. The cord is 64 inches long without stretching. This phone will make a great addition to your vintage phone collection. There are some numbers on the back of the phone that read, 554 43 LR 30 m 4 75, this was all I was able to see plus# 48 in a separate area. Western Electric 500 Telephone "Light Beige" w/ 4-Prong-to-Modular Adapter. 1960
Travel back in time with this vintage rotary dial telephone. This telephone works. The ringer works, the ringer volume works, and the sound is fine. It has the four-prong plug on it, but it comes with a brand new 4-prong-to-modular adapter so it is ready to plug into a regular phone outlet. I checked the color with the official old Western Electric chart and it is"Light Beige, a color pioneered in about 1957. The bottom of the phone is dated July 1960. It is also marked GA-51859, which I believe indicates that it was originally a military telephone. It does have some nicks and signs of wear, but, hey, it's over 50 years old. Police Fire Call Box Internal Mechanism and Telephone Handset
available: the internal components for a Police or Fire Street Call Box includes the mounting board. Wiring, telephone handset, and geared message mechanism overall dimensions 14" x 8 1/2" x 4 1/2" The telephone type handset acts as a transmitter receiver. The geared message mechanism was apparently used to send location and incident messages to a central monitoring station. The handset shows some wear, as if it was used in a busy, crime laden neighborhood. I am not an expert, but my guess it that this mechanism belongs in a Gamewell style street call box.
