This hand crafted snare was built by the drum master from the great Northwest named Gregg Keplinger. If you are not familiar google Keplinger Drums to check out his site and/or wikipedia. Every"keppy" is unique and POWERFUL and priceless. Just ask Matt Cameron or Charlie Watts or put on the Superunknown album by Soundgarden. I learned about these secret weapons in the mid-90's while recorded with Brendan O'Brien. He had a Keppy that he bought after working Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. We miked his up and didn't even tune it and it was perfect. Sounded like a gunshot full of rock n' roll. So I had to get my own. Now it is time for me to sell this nugget to a new generation of rock drummers for them to ... moreuse as they see fit. This unique snare is a gorgeous polished stainless steel and weighs a massive ~15 pounds. Check photo to see that it is signed by Gregg himself and has a"born date" of 10-15-92. This snare just had it's 22nd B-day! Also has the signature NOT FRAGILE stamp found on all true hand crafted Keppys. You will also be hard pressed to find a keppy with this lug choice. Gregg looks to have used classic Rogers Dynasonic lugs on this snare. Which makes it ultra rare. This snare has been in climate controlled storage for the 15 years I have owned it and has been played only a few times in studio sessions, so it is in very clean and very great shape.
