Vintage Bronze/ brass signal cannon sundial. I believe this would fire at noon when the sun hit the manifier and would ignite the fuse. The fuse hole is plugged so this is for display. Base measures about 10" across. Cannon is 7 1/8" long. Weighs five pounds. Cannon can swivel up or down and sundial is adjustable. Wonderful table top display piece. These are getting a bit hard to find. Condition is excellent. Came from an estate and was just stored. There were other sundials also and I have listed them as well. This is an authentic WWII/KOREAN WAR piece of history. In really good shape for the age and life it has had. It is a J-37 Key used to communicate via morse code designed for use in WWII. The plate is marked with the serial# 80238A and J-47 model. During WWII. The Korean War, and even into the Vietnam era the U. S. Signal Corps designated many of their telegraph(Morse code) keys with a"J- and a number. The real workhorse key during those years was the J-37. There are many more glamorous wartime keys around, but the keys that carried the bulk of the action were the J-37 keys. The J-37 key is unusual because, with the addition of different bases and connections, it became part of other more special purpose keys.

Here we have another unique item. Called a signal level meter, Sadelco model FS-3D VS, this was power tested with fresh batteries and appeared to work as far as powering up, meter moved, red light came on and faint sound was audible when audio button switched on. Typical wear for something used of this age, some surface scratches, and some wear on the case, strap is broken and taped, a name and number marked on surface of face. Has the instruction card, 3 little electronic tester looking thingys, and battery packs in upper case section, also a small f fitting testing wire rolled up in the upper section, apparently it originally came with a phone plug, which is missing.
