I can't tell if there is another marking or hallmark on the end of the cannon or if that's just a little imperfection in the metal-it's very small. I don't know the exact vintage or any history or origin of this. It's size is impressive and it has a decent weight too. Item is in good, unpolished condition, tarnish and patina as shown, small hairline in the spoke of one wheel as seen in the photo, still a neat display piece. You're getting it just as I did. This is lathe cut from cold rolled steel and then the bore is cut out on a boring machine. The steel barrel is about 6 and 1/2 inches long and weighs almost 20 lbs. Very Rare PURPLE Masthead Signal Lantern made by Perko from the early 1900s. This piece is in remarkable shape including a lens with no cracks and only a couple minor chips. Additionally it contains all of the original lamp socket hardware. Once it has new wiring installed it will function as new assuming you can find the appropriate light bulbs. Five bulbs are included but have not been tested. The Brass/Bronze casing has some residual paint spots from a few paintings over the years. The Brass up rods also have some discoloration. This all lends itself perfectly to the wonderful patina of this maritime treasure. Due to it's amethyst colour. The Fresnel lens is likely to have been made of manganese dioxide decolorized glass which was produced up until about 1920. The PERKO trademark was registered by Perkins Marine Lamp. Inc. in 1922. ... moreSo a lens made from manganese dioxide glass after 1920 may be rare. The casing is made of heavy cast brass or bronze. George Kaye Audio Labs Small signal tube checker Extremely rare audiophile grade small signal tube tester. This is a really cool unit that not only allows you to match preamp tubes for gain and output. But also to audio test them for microphonics using headphones or the built in speaker; even a scope output to see the tube's actual wave! You can even hook up a signal generator or music source to the input and listen to/see the tube's response. It is in good cosmetic shape considering the age of the unit. Some scratches. This tester does preform all the tests. And functions in all positions. I have noticed the high gain microphonic test to be very sensitive. Some tubes that would work in most amp positions seem exhibit some microphonic tendencies in this circuit. It could need some adjustment. Or it might be perfectly fine. Maybe that's ... morewhat makes this tester such a good mousetrap for tube screening! I am listing and selling it for use as is. With no reserve and no returns since I don't have any way of ensuring that it is 100% calibrated after all these years though all the basic functions do seem to work. I just can't justify having it around at this point. It should go to someone who can enjoy it/give it the attention and potential service and maintenance that it may or may not need now or in the future(like any vintage tube tester) please bid accordingly.
