I took in an untested Bird 5000 on trade and do not have a 5010 sensor to test it with. The battery seems good as it holds a charge. I have no idea how long it will hold a charge. I have a DC power cable that goes with it as shown in 3rd picture. This is how you charge the battery and/or operate the unit. Original specs call for 12 volts DC at up to 400 ma. The pictures show the first start up screen. 2nd picture shows 2nd screen, then the 3rd picture shows the screen it ends up on. All this is with no sensor or cable attached. Wavetek Portable RF Power Meter, Model 1034A
I bought this unit. New old stock(government) about 10 years ago. I have not used it very much. In fact, it was on the top shelf of my test equipment rack and I had forgotten that I even had it. The only thing I can find wrong with it is that the"foam" used to hold the cable and detector is old and needs replacing, or removal. I did not calibrate the unit and it seems to read 1.5 db higher than my old service monitor. Who knows which one is off, but it is close. It has a self calibration port to use, but I did not try it. There are no guarantees with this unit. And no returns. But I don't think you will be unhappy with the purchase. It looks and works really well.
