Letterpress Wood Printing Type 177 Alphabet And Numbers, Font's! Chicago paper
A used set of 177 wooden letter press printers type used by a local Chicago news paper. The Chicago Daily News, it had been established in the 1870's, this paper went out of business in the late 70's, they were purchased at a sale of old Daily News items, the gentleman was a long time employee of the paper who owned them, they are in very good condition there are 177 A_Z letters and numbers 0-9 and various fonts see pic's they are approx. 3 1/1" 2 1/2" 1 15/16" inches tall and various widths, I believe they were made by Hamilton but I'm not a printer so I'm not sure, the new owner can dust and clean them as her/he sees fit they do have a beautiful patina on them now. What A Striking Piece Of Vintage Fenton That We Have For You here. This is a pre-embossed logo Compote from 1970 and at one time had a paper Fenton sticker. It is done in a beautiful light blue with traces of white flowing through it. It also has raised rose touches on it also. It is referred to as the Roses& Marble Slag pattern. It is shown in Fenton Books and is numbered 9223 MB. This is a rather large piece. Standing 6&1/2" Tall by 6&1/2" Wide(at the ruffled top) and stands on a 3" Base. They have lovely detailed hand-painted paper maches faces and wooden bodies with the traditional long fingers. The costumes are quite elaborate with lots gold threading. Fabric lined silk is in a multitude of colors. Man doll wears an elaborate headress with one break. Woman's headress is missing a bead and she has a small nick on her nose. They are all decked out in Christmas garb and are having fun celebrating this great holiday. The bag is in good/very good condition. It has been used and there are still some pieces of scotch tape attached to it. Also the top has a small tear and the fold lines are very evident. There is also some creasing. Given all that. Vintage 8" Paper Papier Mache Chinese Doll Body Only With OriginalSilk Outfit
This listing is for a vintage 8" tall five piece papier mache body and outfit for a Chinese doll. With the head the doll would be about 10" The outfit includes an orange silk brocade shirt with embroidered ribbon trim and glass bead frogs and glass bead necklace. Green silk pants with ribbon trim, and embroidered ribbon shoes with silk soles. Shoes are attached to the feet. The outfit, which is not removable, is in excellent condition. The only imperfection I see is a spot on the back of the shirt. The body is in very good condition. It is very loosely strung and there is a chip in the baby finger of the right hand.
