Has a nice dark brick red finish. In very good condition, there is a letter carved in the bottom that is either a Z or an N. Mortar measures 5.5" tall. 6" across the top. Pestle measures 8" long. I am listing for your consideration this rare antique wicker Doll Cradle. Purchased at an Estate sale approx. 2 years ago. This doll cradle is in good condition. The cradle stands on two end pieces( which unscrew) and swings from two rusty metal hooks. The wicker is in good condition with no major issues and the cradle has some remaining paint of cream, dark brown with gold trim. The stand with crossbar are in a"twist design" There is no pad and the bottom is wood. The wicker basket for holding the doll measures appox. 22 inches long. 10.5 inches wide and stands 7.5 inches at the highest point. The age of this rare doll cradle has been estimated to be from the 1890's to 1910 by an antique dealer. EARLY FOLK ART POND BOAT WITH ORIGINAL PAINT ANTIQUE WOOD SAILBOAT
Up for auction is a folk art. Hand made toy sailboat. The boat itself appears to be made of oak, looking at the grain of the wood on the side of the boat.The boat weighs 14.2 oz, and only being app. 10" L X 2 1/2" W@ the widest point X 141/2" T also points to oak construction.The mast is app. 13" tall and has been hand whittled to somewhat of a point on the top. The sail is about 3 5/8" at the bottom and tapers to a point in about 10" The sail is fastened to the mast simply by running pieces of wire through holes drilled in the sail. Twisting the wire, then feeding it through holes drilled in the mast. This leaves exposed sharp wire ends, and would never be allowed in today's toy market,with our government protecting us from ourselves, but was perfectly acceptable years ago. The body of the boat is painted/ ... morestained a flat blue color with some minor wear.The cabin/wheelhouse is formed by 1/2 of a wood dowel and is painted-stained brown. The mast is another whittled wood dowel. And the sail itself is of an unknown wood material. Sail is white with around 13 black squares offset in two rows,squares painted on one side only. I can only imagine a father during the depression.No job,no money, desperately wanting his child to have a toy, and fabricating this sailboat out of material, tools, and knowledge available. Very nice original WW2 US M1 helmet liner made by CAPAC. This liner has most of its original OD paint and has the correct WW2 khaki colored web suspension. The webbing is very clean and there are no tears the I can see. The sell does have one crack that is under an inch long the can be seen in picture#6 and a very small ding in the crown area that I tried to show in pictures#7 and#8. But it did not show up well. Antique Penobscot Indian Fancy Curlicue Basket Original Paint Barrel Form Rare!!
This is a very fine. Very old example of polychrome Penobscot Indian fancy basket work from the 19th century. This barrel shaped basket is woven over a tin and wood form, with leather over wood in one end that states"rye whiskey" The basket is woven out of cane or ash. There is some wear and light damage to some of the ends of the curlicues as can be expected of a basket of this age. The barrel/basket measures 3" tall x 3" wide and weighs 90 grams. This rare basket has original paint, and a very wonderful patina. One end is open- it may have had leather or wood covering the end at one time. This is a wonderful and whimsical piece- offered with no reserve. AFRICAN MASK- Man with CARVED Feathered Headdress This sale is for an exotic African Mask. This piece is handcarved and painted and done beautifully! It is quite large measuring 23" high x 10.25" wide. This Mask was carved from one solid piece of wood which has a veRy red color to it which can be seen on the back of the mask. I do not know from which part of Africa this comes from. The feathered headdress is quite lovely and has been painted in a graduated manner with the feathers getting darker nearer the ends- much like a real feather would. A wire hanger is on the back and the piece is in very good condition. Quite heavy so will need a sturdy wall hanger. Vintage bicycle horntank from a 26" 1959 Schwinn Deluxe Tornado with original paint and decals. Measures 13 1/2" long. Four gills at the front of both sides. One screw is missing where tank halves fasten together and another screw is missing where the horn assembly fastens to tank half. Horn button moves well but horn is untested. All parts have scratches. Rust and dents. I've posted a photo of the bicycle it came from. Serial number F969860 is stamped on the rear forkend of the bicycle it came from.
