Broken in just about perfectly then returned to the store for a broken lace in the middle of the pocket. You can easily tell which one(because it's the cleanest) but it's the correct color and will blend in with normal use. I'll call this glove excellent condition. No part of the glove is less than excellent. Leather is strong and flexible with no cuts or ink. Most stamping is visible. At the base of the palm reads MACGREGOR GOLDSMITH fairly bold. US PAT OFF MADE IN USA visible but not bold. DW this is the model and it's easily visible. On the thumb is ELMER RIDDLE TRADEMARK which is easily visible. On the thumb is LICENSED UNDER PAT. NO. which is bold and the patent number I believe is 2231206. Some numbers are easy to read. Others are light. HORSEHIDE LINING is stamped on the liner. Leather piping in excellent condition, as are the liner, grommets and laces. Web pieces also in excellent condition. It's not rare to find an Elmer Riddle glove. It's very rare to find one with the MacGregor Goldsmith patch on the backstrap, which this one has. ... moreThe patch is in excellent shape and easily readable. GEORGE SELKIRK VINTAGE GLOVE MITT - KEN-WEL - EXCELLENT-PLUS - NEW YORK YANKESS
Outstanding vintage late 1930's- early 1940's baseball glove from the Ken-Wel company with the factory endorsement of George Selkirk. This glove would rate excellent-mint. Better than excellent. Not mint. I believe the glove has never caught a ball. The only wear is shelf wear and age. Made by Ken-Wel, with a gleaming blue Ken-Wel patch on the back that is mint. Silver stamping is present at 95% very attractive. Wool underneath the wrist strap is clean and in mint condition. White leather piping is physically in mint condition, no cuts or flaking. It is not quite as white as it would have been originally. Dark brown lacing is perfect. Light yellow leather lining in near mint condition. Note the interesting welting pattern along the back of the fingers to allow for easier bending of the glove for fielding. Also note the leather pieces ... moresewn on to reinforce the web attachements at the finger and thumb. Grommets are perfect without a trace of rust or verdigris. Also note the interesting design of the backstrap, sewn on one side, adjustable by white leather lacing on the other. Glove is model 544 EXTRA LARGE-KEN WEL-GEORGE SELKIRK-PROFESSIONAL. Glove is very thick and well padded and is a full size adult model. There are no cuts or ink. There is the odd scuff mark here and there, most notably on the George Selkirk signature. I'm glad to provide more pics if you need them and will answer any questions as quickly as I can. Glove weighs 1 pound and will weigh roughly 1 1/2 pounds boxed up. This an old glove in nice condition. The leather is soft and supple, the piping is all good and the inside is soft and smooth, but it needs to be re-laced with leather to make it original. In the palm of the glove are the words FRANKLIN B306, HODGES MODEL and WHIP ACTION HINGE. On the back of the glove the label has been removed and the names of previous owners appear.

I also cleaned this glove and moisturesed the leather. On the picture the leather is a bit darker now than the way you will receive it. Because the moisture will eventually evaporate out of it and the leather will lighten up. The leather by the way is in really good condition. Not dried up and smelling foul.
