In the printing business from 1903 until the 1980's when the City of Minneapolis took their building through eminent domain to build a Timberwolves basketball parking facility. These letters were working pieces used by Dahlen many many years ago in their business. They were stored for many years until I recently acquired them. They have not been cleaned. And are dirty. I did clean one letter up with a tooth brush and soap and water, it is still dark, but wood grain ... morecan be seen. It is the letter T. I cannot guarantee that all letters will clean up the same. Vintage/ Antique Letterpress Wood Printer's Type Word"EQUALITY" These are from the Salt lake county. Utah press. It was commissioned in 1920 so these have seen a lot of prints. The ink has been lightly sanded off the letter to reveal contrast but will still work, if you actually have a press. The patina is preserved while making the letters pop. These are almost a hundred years old and will make a strong statement. The E is 3 1/4 inch the Q is2 and a half the U and T is two" and the a,L,I, and Y are 1 5/8" What is shown in the pics are exactly what you will receive. Vintage / Antique Letterpress Wood Printer's Type Word "CAT" C = 3 1/4"
Cat is the word we used a 6 for the a as the picture shows. These are from the Salt lake county. Utah press. It was commissioned in 1920 so these have seen a lot of prints. The ink has been lightly sanded off the letter to reveal contrast but will still work, if you actually have a press. The patina is preserved while making the letters pop. These are almost a hundred years old and will make a strong statement. The C is 1 and 7/16" wide by 3 and 1/4" tall. The a is 1 and 1/18" wide by 2 and 7/16" tall.
