On carefully firing this up I was quite surprised to find this functioning well on all ranges and the readings on my frequency meter(I don't have a'scope) corresponding closely to those on the dial. Furthermore. I left it running for about half an hour and did not detect any overheating or burning smells etc. The output control is a little shaky until it gets past the first 1/5(2 volts) or so of its travel but fine thereafter. Meter on instrument agrees with my DMM within 10% or so. Valves are: Brimar 6V6GT. 6J5GT, 6SN7GT& Zaerix 6X5GT What remains of the mains lead(which has been cut off) has the modern colours suggesting that this may have been in use within the last 30 years or so. The wide metal band surrounding the base of the 6J5GT is coming adrift. UK P&P will be £10. Will be packed with great care. Philips PM5418 TDSI Color TV Pattern Generator, not fully functional
This unit is minimally tested. And is found to be NOT fully functional. I only checked the composite video output, and found issues when trying to display a color test image on my TV. All black& white test signals seemed to function OK(see pictures) although the aspect ratio was a bit strange. I'm not sure if that means there is a problem. The front panel composite video BNC connector is a little loose, but seems to make reasonable electrical contact. I did not test any other outputs or functions from this generator, including RF output, RGB, SCART, or any of the Audio outputs. Please bid knowing that only what you see in the picture and what I've tested can be assumed working. As such, the item is sold as-is, with no returns, but priced accordingly.
