Hello! I never got around to building a project for these. I went nuts buying a lot of drive units of various brands and types over a few years. And still have yet to finish a project. Decided I need to sell some of them off to fund finishing an actual speaker or two. You are BIDDING ON THE PAIR OF 6 INCH midwoofers in the pictures. Spec sheet available here: These are a slightly older Morel design. But can still stand with most any new design today. The paper cone is hand treated with a polymer material on the front side, and untreated on the rear side. The pole piece is vented out the rear, and the spider is also vented. Their sensitivity is about average for an 8 ohm midwoofer, and they have a fairly long linear excursion. The magnet is a double. Their sound quality is very detailed and quite neutral. They're probably well matched ... morewith a"fast" sounding tweeter such as a metal dome. A ribbon, or something like that. It's not a"hard" or analytical sound, though.kind of halfway between the sound of a plastic cone, and a metal cone.hate to generalize like that, but it sounds like that to me. It's softer and more forgiving than an untreated paper Scan-Speak midwoofer, which is not a bad thing. They have a high Qts which is well suited for transmission line or sealed designs, but it might also be possible to get them to work in a bass reflex alignment. The cone does seem noticeably more stiff than their plastic cones(hence the detail and neutrality) Morel Acoustics" had used this 164 model in a floor standing transmission line a few years back. Paired with their MDT-33 tweeter. I own these tweeters also. The MDT-33 are very detailed and dynamic, but are also almost"hard/aggressive"depending on what other tweeter I compare them to. Broadway Limited Santa Fe Warbonnet F7 B Unit Shells (2), drive units and parts
This is a group of Broadway Limited Items. These items were for projects that I have cancelled. Two F7 Santa Fe Shells that were purchased as shells. One was only removed from the box for pictures. The other one was on the B drive that has the decoder installed. The only usage was on a short test track. The boxes for the shells say 401B F7B#37A AT&SF Warbonnet. Both shells come in the factory parts boxes. Thre Broadway Limited PCM drive units as described below: B Unit with Decoder- Runs great. Thedecoder set to unit 3. This was a slave drive that I installed a DCC decoder into. There are three silver truck frame and one black one. The black one is new and was used to replace a defective plastic frame. It needs painting. Speakers are not installed and the slave cable was removed, B Unit without the Decoder- This was a slave unit but the ... moreslave cable was removed so a decoder could be installed. Since the decoder has not been installed. Track current does not connect to the motor. I have tested the motor and it runs fine. This unit runs well but one of the drive shafts is missing. It only drives one truck. Both trucks are complete and work but I lost the drive shaft when I installed a new motor that Broadway Limited sent me. The B units fit the shells. The missing B drive shaft can be taken form the A unit or Broadway Limited probably has one. A Unit- Runs great and has a DCC 8-pin plug. The 8-pin oscket has a DC jumper board in it so it runs on DC. The LED light board has been removed but there are a couple of those in the parts set. Parts- There is a box of parts included. Among the parts are: Three LED headlamp units for an A Unit One slave connector One Speaker Several speaker hold downs Quite a few spare truck parts Misc cables.

These belonged to my dad who was a complete hifi nut and connoisseur of high-end audio who had the many of the classics including Tannoy Lancasters. B&Ws, JBLs, Quad Electrostatics but settled on these for his listening. I had them stored for sometime but now having a full clearout hence they have been set up and running for the last week in my room with dad's matching ROTEL RA-610 amplifier which is also for sale here under a separate listing(No 251669597987) The set was one of the most recommended at the time as they match each other perfectly(last picture is of the whole set but please note the amp is not included in this listing) They are matched mirror pairs and sequential as you will ... moresee from the serial numbers. I have pasted a spec sheet I found online in the same pic which shows the frequency/impedance response which is very impressive indeed even by today's standards! The sound quality is simply astounding with such clarity and open engaging musical reproduction. They sound like a bigger louder version of the Rogers LS3/5a which of course used the KEF T27 tweeter as here and bigger version of the KEF B110. The B200 as here. I really don't think much has changed in the world of hifi and these speakers will easily take on anything equivalent of today and beat it! They can be used upright or on their sides and have a nice touch where the kef logo can be turned either way to match. Grills are original and in perfect condition. Needless to say. They are in perfect working order, no rattles, buzzing, flapping or distortion and simply as clear as a bell with big tight bass. Believe me I have pushed them to make sure. There is some very old damage to the cabinet rear bottom corners where the veneer has failed and allowed moisture to get in to distort the wood underneath but these were repaired/fixed by dad at the time. These are as good as it gets in terms of performance and pair matching and have been used for the last 15 years in a pair of working speakers so I can personally guarantee the perfect working order of this pair of units. The speakers serial numbers are 0260703 and 0260706 and their DC resistances(measured on my meter) are 6.9 and 7.1 Ohms. The speakers feature the perforated metal grilles to the front and felt crossover insulating pads to the rear that mark them out as LS3/5a drivers. They also come with the neoprene gaskets that fit between driver and cabinet. Please see the excellent cosmetic condition from the photos- there are some small marks around the screw holes but these are not visible ... moreonce installed. Overall an excellent pair of units. KEF B139 MkII Type 6171 Drive Units / Speakers (pair) - tested & good condition
Pair of KEF B139s removed from a pair of KEF K2 Celeste's manufactured in June 1969(see pictures) One of the speaker cabinets had unfortunately seen it's best days and was unrepairable so I've given up trying. Hopefully someone else can find a nice project to use them in. These have been fully tested and compared side by side with my other KEF B139s in a sweet pair of KEF Concerto's I own and have upgraded with Falcon Acoustic XOs. I couldn't tell the difference- the bass was lovely deep and rich- so I am honestly saying that as far as I can tell these are in perfect condition considering their age. Please note that all the B139s have a neoprene surround flat frontal cone and everybody spends ages considering whether these have bumps and indents when this really wouldn't be where problems reside. The flat neoprene ... moresurround doesn't generate the lovely bass sound! The rubber edging is in good condition; nicely flexible and not stiff or hardened. These are a good pair. Trust that makes sense. I believe the MkII Type 6171 was first manufacturered in 1968 and phased out around 1973.
