The softer lining in the case deteriorated& adhered to some parts of the micrometer– leaving some rusty-like pock marks on parts of the micrometer(please see pictures) Some of this may still clean up– some won’t– but there will likely be some marks on the micrometer. The area that was primarily affected is on one side of the thimble(sleeve remains clean) While this is mostly cosmetic– the numbers on the thimble from 0-5 in one direction& 0-20 in the other are more difficult to read.
