It was put together with very small head nails. What I like the best about it is it's color. It has a deep reddish brown nice patina. It is in good condition but please review the high definition pictures for more condition detail. I see some remnants of glue so it probably is the remains of a repair done at some point. The box feels sturdy now though and is functional.

That looks like either a lion or ... morea tiger. The spoon is 12 inches long from top to bottom. With the scoop part approximately 5.5 inches. It is this proportion that makes the piece so interesting. There is a small chip in the wood at the far end of the scooper. You can see it clearly in my photo. There also appears to be a small chip on the animals right ear, but that may be the way it was made, it is hard for me to tell. I picked this up at a garage sale. England, c. 1750 This is a reproduction of an early English Wooden Doll that was part of the Richard Wright Collection and auctioned by Skinner in 2009(Lot#70) The beauty and sweet expression on her face. Eyes dark and deep captured my attention and inspired me to make a reproduction of this early Queen Anne Lady Doll. She is a wonderful example of fine art of the 1750's era. Anna is my interpretation of this amazing doll. She is 19 inches tall. Hand carved from Linden wood. She has a one-piece carved wooden head and torso, jointed at the hips and knees. Anna is beautifully carved, she has very fine ... morehands with carved fingernail beds.gorgeous in every detail. Her cloth upper arms are jointed at the elbow. Flat back and squared-off hips. Her fully jointed legs allows her to sits perfectly. Wide and beautiful hand-blown black glass eyes. Gesso is covering the head. She has a wonderful distressed look to simulate antiquity. Her cloth wig cap is nailed to her head. Human hair wig. My reproduction of Anna is based on the silhouette and clothing of the original doll. The fabrics are antique and also salvaged from genuine clothing from the Victorian and Edwardian Era. Most of the material I used to dress Anna. Comes from the French and English markets. I made her boots from antique German leather, they have a lovely teal color, just as the originals. They are fully lined and have a great worn look. I have added a quilted petticoat c1880's and early pocket to Anna's trousseau. It is simply lovely. All of her clothing is removable. Hope everyone enjoys seeing Anna. Vintage Wooden Antique 1906 Star Egg Carrier Crate Tray New Old Stock Rochester
This auction is for a vintage 1906 Star Egg Carrier. I believe this to be new old stock and it looks to have never been used. It is in excellent to mint condition. It has it's original cardboard dividers which are not bent or deformed at all. All writing is crisp and easily legible. One side is labeled"This egg carrier is installed by August Johnson Co. which adds to the nostalgia of this lovely antique. Further labeling includes PAT. No. 722.512, CAN. No. 96566, ENG. No. 89090 0f 1906.

Antique Wooden Curved Seat Rocking Chair The chair is in great condition with age appropriate wear and dates from the 1920's-30's. The wood of the seat has a beautiful striped pattern in it and there is also a slight curve with wear rub marks from years of use. The arms curl and have a really nice old fashioned feel to them with wear on them as well. The chair measures 33 1/2" tall at the backrest x 14 1/2" at the seat. Antique Chicago Municipal Navy Pier tray Wood Wooden etched medallion silver ?
This is a tray that looks to be hand carved wood depicting the Municipal Pier in Chicago. It is pre 1927 as that is the year the name was changed to The Navy Pier in honor of the Navy men of World War I. It looks like the etched oval under glass is silver but I could be wrong. I dare not take it apart. There are a couple small chips to the edges of the wood in places. The glass is dirty and there is dust and light debris under it. The woman who owned it put brown contact paper on the back to protect her walls or furniture. Everything in her house had it on it; such as her jewelry boxes and other hanging pictures) I can feel that the wood underneath is still there. The handles have a little give and I think it was made that way. They are beveled; if that is the word. I wish I could be more definitive but I don't know the correct terminology ... morefor such a piece. I know that it is superb despite the few flaws. Measures about: 17" by 11" by 1.25" The handles extend out about 1.5" on either side. I think this is historical to the United States and Chicago. Research I did turns up nothing similar at all. In the proper hands. I think it could be easily restored to its original beauty. It is breathtaking in my opinion. The etching is just fabulous on the medallion part not to mention the cut-outs in the interior wood border. Pet and smoke friendly here. If shipping less. Difference always refunded. There are no screws or nails attaching the handle and it is a little loose. All four legs are sturdy. It is 11.5" tall at the highest point and 11" wide. The pictures say the rest. ANTIQUE DUTCH EAST INDIES WOODEN BOX WITH DUTCH FRIESLAND COINS CIRCA 1700 A beautiful old hardwood box originating from the Dutch East Indies dating to late 17th century circa 1690-1700. Naive and simply made. The box is decorated with white metal panels, copper straps and studs on the top front and sides. The interior retains a tiny inner box with hinged lid. The box may have been used as an early tinder box. One original hinge is still in place, the other is a later replacement. The original closure is also missing and has been replaced in the mid 1700s with a simple hook closure made from an early Dutch Friesland coin of the type circa 1740 which has been adapted to form a stud. A further stud added to the back to mirror the front detail. The construction is typical of the period with hand made nails and studs. The box measures 8.5 x ... more5.5 x 4 inches approx. Condition is good commensurate with age. A wonderfully aged patina and colour. A very old repair to base which is hidden under the later applied green felt. Antique / Vintage Small Wooden Mortar and Pestle : Multi-Colored/Toned Wood
Up for sale is this antique small wooden mortar& pestle(I don't know what type of wood it is and wouldn't venture a guess) My wife and I bought this piece at an antique shop in town. Please view the pictures and read below for details on the condition of the item. The mortar is just over 3 inches tall and about 2 inches in diameter at the mouth. The pestle is about 3& 1/4 inches long. As you can see in the pictures. The mortar and pestle have obviously been used and the surface is covered in scratches, dings, and marks. Also there is some cracking of the wood on the pestle, at the base of the mortar, and on the cup of the mortar(see pictures) The rim of the mortar also seems to be uneven on one side; almost like a decent sized sliver of wood was taken out of it and was smoothed out over time. There are no markings on the mortar ... moreor pestle or any provenance(other than that it was acquired at an antique shop) that would indicate an age or a maker. My wife and I purchased this mortar and pestle because of the multi-toned wood, which makes it a charming piece. Here's a unique& interesting piece. An old handmade Native American wood& cloth papoose from the early 1900's. This came from upstate New York so I think it could possibly be Mohawk or Iroquois or another NY tribe, but I can safely assume its origins were in the Northeast U.S. It remains in very good, structurally sound condition; no cracks in the wood. 1949 Penn Yan 14' Flier Trailboat. Scarce Model, Rare Antique Vintage Wooden Boat This is a fairly rare model. You occasionally see Penn Yan Trailboats but not the Flier. It's 14' x 53" x 18" and the serial number is GTD 49465. This boat will need a complete restoration. Ribs appear to be in good shape(I see a crack in one or two) but a small amount of planking will need replaced. I don't see any rot. Just some broken planking. Transom is in incrediable shape for its age. Origianl canvas but will need to be replaced. Two of the three seats are broken causing the brace between the seat and floor to pull a couple of its screws out. That bracing is an integral part of the structure and helps the boat keep its shape. Should be an easy fix for someone who knows what they're doing. Deck is beautiful with only one crack ... morethat we could find. Vintage Antique Wooden Pyramid Metronome With Bell Working Parts Restore Deco
A vintage or antique wooden metronome with a pyramid shape& suitable for parts or restoring. The metronome works& it has bell chime when the small brass slide on one side is pulled out. The central panel on the front is a silver colour with different tempos& numbers. It ranges from Pressitti to Grave. There is a symbol at the bottom with qp? on the silver part& the moving arm has small lines along the whole length. The brass winder with the silver ring is at the side& the bell part is marked with the numbers 2. 3, 4, 6. There is bakelite? knob on the base& a small swinging brass thing so it might of had a base at some time. You can see all the workings from underneath. It would be suitable for use as a metronome when restored, for spare parts or for display in a musical collection. Condition. The metronome is seen ... morein the pictures. It is as found& uncleaned. The silver panel has a dark mark nearly all the way to the top which might clean off. The black Japan lacquer which is behind the silver panel has crazing. The wood has small dints& fine scratches. There are small gaps to the joins on the side& front of the metronome. The moving arm has a slight bend& going by other pictures there should be a small weight on the arm. This is missing. This wooden shipping box is 8 ½ x 3 ½ x 3 5/8ths. Dove-tailed construction with the bottom nailed on, joints are tight, in great condition with crisp printing on one side. The heads are nice; one is 1927 and appears to have never been installed. The other two are 1916; both have pipe dope residue and the duck-bill levers are loose and swivel on one, like it was frozen. You find old heads but to find them with an old wooden box in this great condition is something else. Looks like the top was nailed on. But I do not have that. Please see the pics. Vintage, Antique WOOD, WOODEN FLUTE AND PICCOLO
Vintage antique wood piccolo and flute. Both need a little work. The piccolo is missing the mouth end and the flute need new cork. The joints are loose. The flute also has 2 small cracks. The piccolo is marked with a Chicago. Paris, London stamp and also has LP and D. I can't make out the stamp on the flute. Only a few words. It does have a signature which I can't read. It is also marked Legion then? 86 is stamped on it and also the french word for patent. The flute comes in an old leather case.
