ANTIQUE BLACK FOREST CUCKOO CLOCK RESTORATION. This is a lovely looking clock from around 1900. Can't find a makers name, good size at 14" tall. The front is all good. Carving, face, hands etc. Overall very attractive clock. I know nothing about clocks so have not messed with it. The mechanism is clean and looks to be in good condition. Cuckoo is there and tries to come out when hands are turned past the hour. A few loose bits(pic 4) metal wires. Wood triangles. I'm sure if you know these clocks you wont have any problems. These items show some signs of wear like some paint that has come off in a few places and some surface scratching. The wood seems to be in good condition with no splitting. No separation and no cracking on one however the other does show some cracking at the tip and one crack travels up the base. Ok here it is I finally got the OK to sell this rare fishing antique Spearing decoy. It measures 6 1/2" long. It is hand carved wood and has 4 side metal fins and the tail fin is also metal. It has white attached eyes and an eye bolt in the top for string attachment. It really looks good with the silver sides and light yellow back. The fins have red outlining the silver metal. There is a little tag attached that says"George Corradin N. Muskegor MI" This is certainly a great find. I would date this piece around 1902 since I have a few others from the same owner that also was from that time period. I am selling this piece with no reserve! 19th Century Antique Chinese carved and seated wooden statue (God of War?)
A remarkable carved. Lacquered, gold leafed, and amber shellacked of one of the many Chinese gods. Ornamental configurations have been added to even further enhance the flashiness of the piece. Note the 3 pom pom topknots on his helmet. His right hand probably held a sword and there is now added a bamboo stick to show his forcefulness. Both hands have been broken off and restuck. Which is the only real damage. The usual nicks and scratches and pieces of missing paint are typical of pieces of this age. The red paint is worn from his head and shows a full black lacquer face.ferocious and intimidating. The amazing carving is displayed by the base of mostly raw wood with paint residue. The holes in his face would have once held horse hair representing moustache and chin whiskers.
