This piece is RARE and in wonderful condition and from what i can tell fully functioning making it a awesome museum piece. All the adjusting knobs work perfectly and when plugged in it powers up turning the lights on in the circular plate. When looking up the patent date this was pat tended MARCH 8. 1938! Patent number 2,110,330 model 11000. The lights turn on and the optics seem to be working, when a head is in the rest you can see their eye but it was too difficult for me to adjust it and focus it to be clear. One of the small white circular pieces is missing that the patients forehead would rest on and the cord seems to be a little coming out of the piece which i took a photo of. Original Condition second type US Navy aviator goggles. With navy grey strap and extra lens. These are marked American Optical Company and USN, but the USN mark is hard to make out in the photo. It's there. This is the navy version of the Army's B8 goggle and used through Korean war. Came in a box marked Goggle Set, Flying, type II, r37-g-3810. Box not for sale. Definitely a bit dusty and need a cleaning, but rubber is pliable and strap still flexible.

Up for auction is 3 AO Spencer 1036A Microscopes. All three are being sold AS IS because we do not have the proper power supply. All three are in a pretty good cosmetic condition and still have their objectives attached. There are some scratches from previous inventory markings that have been removed. There are no visible broken or damaged components although one of the three microscopes is missing its lenses. The inside of the hat is in great condition. If it was worn it does not appear to have been worn often. From an estate. AMERICAN OPTICAL"AO" marked pince nez as shown. Need cleaned and polished. The other stamping is a circle inside of a square. Possibly white gold filled or plated. Although not marked as suck. Bridge measures Maximum nose width of 3/4" between the pads. At rest the specs measure 5"l x 1-7/8"h. Lenses are about 2-3/8" c-c when at rest. Lens' diameter of 1-9/16" Lenses have some scratching to the glass, nothing major, and need cleaned. Case and glasses were together when found. There is an old piece of masking tape on the case. Case is made of metal with velvet lining and has the beaten up cloth exterior. As-is, as-found.

American Optical 860 Sliding Block Microtome, AO Spencer, with 2 Knife Holders
American Optical 860 Sliding Block Microtome For sale- an American Optical 860 Sliding Block Microtome. I have frequently heard of these referred to as the Cadillac of microtomes. And as they are no longer in production they are highly sought after. For those of you that search ebay longingly to find one. You may recognize this one. I have had it listed for quite awhile as missing parts. And apparently those parts are very hard to come by. I finally had someone offer me these parts. And so now I would consider the microtome to be reasonably complete. Actually better than that. As the purchase not only added the regular knife holder to the equation, it added the long knife holder as well. The regular knife holder is missing one of the thumb screws that secures the knife in place. But I am guessing that worst case you could replace it with ... morea bolt, and hopefully you could find a matching thumb screw. I had assumed that you could simply take one out of the long holder if you weren’t using it and put it in the regular holder. But the threads are different oddly enough so they are not interchangeable. In the interest of getting the listing back up and running I have simply added two pictures to the ones I already had posted. The first of those is a shot of the back of the unit with the missing advance trip finger attached. When I first tried it out the advance mechanism didn’t want to go back into place. But I gave it a few shots of WD-40 and now it does return. A bit slower than it should perhaps but faster than you are likely to be making strokes. And no doubt with some additional lubrication and use it will get back to stride. That picture also shows the stop that was missing on the end in place. That is now included as well. The last picture shows everything that has been added to the equation since the original pictures were taken. The guy disassembled the knife holders in order to pack them more compactly to fit in my mailbox. I think I have the regular holder back together correctly. Minus the one missing thumb

Vintage American Optical plastic coverplate lot + dark A 10 glass Welders Lens
Old welder lense items. There are the two plastic coverplates which have the cool original paper envelopes. And there are two other additional lenses which I'm not sure of maker. One very dark glass which looks like it says A 10 on it or something(not sure if its an A but definitely a 10. see pic) and one piece of glass that looks pretty clear. The glass pieces have some chips in edges, and all of these items have some scratches and imperfections from age/use. Approx 22" inches long by 7" inches wide by 10" inches tall- not extended! Extends out another 8" inches in length! Weighs almost 34lbs with everything! It is heavy! These are true vintage American Optical sunglasses. Circa 1960's. In good vintage condition. Frames are made of thick acetate material in gray color. Size 46-22. Frames feature light green calobar glass lenses in good condition showing minimal wear under close inspection. If you hold at an angle under direct light. There are some faint hairline abrasions. Nothing in depth and nothing really visible when looking at glasses. Let alone looking through them. They're in nice condition. Frames are also in good condition with minmal marks on top and bottom of frame. Not visible when wearing. No serious nicks or chips. Floating nose pads are free of corrosion. Frames feature strong 7 barrel hinges with no movement or play. Edges are straight. Temples are straight and not spread apart. The frames are in very good to excellent condition and only have only a couple small scuffs on each corner of the frames. Both arms are marked 1/10 12K GF and the under side of the temple is also marked 1/10 12K GF. The nose pads look to be the original pads and are also in very good condition. The arm paddles/covers are free of any cracks or issues and only have some very minor faint marks. The lenses I am pretty certain are not the original lenses as they are not glass but they are in very good condition and have only a few minor marks which have no affect on your vision at all when waring. DUE TO EYE INJURIES FROM THE GLASS LENSES AND HIGH COST OF MANUFACTURING, IT WAS REPLACED IN 1944 BY THE B-8 PLASTIC LENS GOGGLE. THEREBY MAKING THE AN 6530 HIGHLY COLLECTABLE AND AN ICON OF WWII. THESE GOGGLES ARE IN UNWORN EXCELLENT CONDITION. Vintage goggles made by the Safety Division of the American Optical Company of Southbridge. Mass. in the 1940s. The goggles incorporate separately designed. Wood-tone, eye cups. Mesh inserts around the lens frames and on the sides of the eye cups provide air ventilation. An adjustable ball chain encased in soft rubber spans the nose bridge. A still stretchable, adjustable elastic strap provides a snug fit. Original box includes images and descriptions of the goggle's features on four sides. The top of the box includes the applicable patent numbers and the mafacturer's information as well as the corporate logo. Vintage American Optical Duralite goggles-NYC Lines
Very nice like new Duralite goggles. They show no wear.Box is intact, elastic headband has no stretch left so I did not display on a face. Interestingly,the ring which surrounds each lens is marked NYC lines?perhaps special model was issued. The pat. matches that of the box so I believe items are Original to each other. Instructions also included. The rubber bumper which separates the two lenses is a bit brittle and has broken off a little on the outer edges. These are too cool and I really don't think they have ever been worn. Nice wood-like material forms the eye cups. Metal side shields are excellent.
