Gorgeous Hull Bow Knot Vase B-4-6 1/2 1949-50
Up for your consideration is this beautiful asymmetrical vase from Hull Pottery in the Bow Knot pattern. This lovely piece is the only piece of Bow Knot that does not actually feature a bow. Made for only two years 1949-50. This vase is in overall very good condition, there is some sight crazing, a few random dark lines(normal wear for a piece this age) a glaze pop to the back and an area with a little dark glaze on the base(factory) The matte finish glaze colors are bright, the mold is crisp, it is clearly marked on the underside B-4-6 ½. Here are two tires and rims from I believe are from a simplicity lawn tractor. The size is 5.30/4.50-6 and they are mounted on as you can see grey rims that have a 3/4 axle bore in the center of the rim. They have slight cracks in the tread of the tire but have been aired up and holding air just fine for two weeks now. they were going to be used for a separate project that I no longer have time for and have been holding air on the shelf in my garage for a couple months before I decided to list them and let them sit while I watched them) Anyway they are in good shape and are still very very useable or I myself would have thrown them away. I collect boxes. This came from India in the early 1980's. It is a primitively crafted box of wood. Brass and copper. Lined with a rough burgundy velvet with a small mirror in the lid. The mirror is not clear. There is a lift out velvet tray with two sections. The outside metal is chased with elephants birds and designs. There is a metal latch. It is not a fancy piece probably all made by hand. It is cool because it has the appeal of the cottage industry of old India. The bottom has four legs. It is in extremely good condition.
