Very nice and useable K&E pocket compass-possibly military with an F2051 painted on. Marks. More usable than for a pristine collection, but clean and nice looking so it won't shame you if it's on a shelf or you pull it out of your pocket to find yourself in your 20 room mansion or your"estate. Nicely aged dial and you know what? It still points north! No batteries are included. Geo-cacher's delight! Probably from the 50s or 60s. Nice vintage K&E Wye level. the serial number on this is 21337. I believe that dates it at around 1911. It is marked Keuffel& Esser New York. The inside of the case has a hoboken address. It comes with a plumb bob and the triangular adapter plate. The case is nice with a brass nameplate. the leather strap is broken but the brass buckle is still there. I am not an expert on this item all the knobs and adjustments seem to move freely. The optics are very powerful. Great addition for any collector or enthusiast. Starting bid only 9.99! The level has fluid& the lenses are clean and free of cracks. This i nstrument measures 11 1/4” long x4” wide x 6 1/2” tall. The wooden box is in good/fair condition. But original straps were torn off. It still has the lock, but no key. The box measures 13" long 5 1/4"wide 8 1/2” tall. Has brass plate on front that reads Keuffel& Esser CO. Antique K+ E Keuffel& Esser Co level scope. It's in great shape for the age and has the original great shape manual. The box for this piece is included. Would make a beautiful display and nice for someone that collects. On the side it reads 147874(serial number) and matches the plate that is nailed to inside of the box it came in. The plate in box also reads No. NP5153. level works fine. And everything seems to work as knobs turn scope spins as I have no idea how to use it. This tool does not have a stand but comes with the threaded piece that screws onto the stand so you could use a stand if needed. It does have a trivet to be used without a stand. Tripod plate with threads. All leveling screws work. There is a plum bob hook under the scope. It has a sunshade, lens cap, and a couple small tools but I do not know what they are used ... morefor. The box has a slot for these two tools. I truly do not know very much about these but the manual has taught me the names of parts to give a good description. Scope along with box is very heavy which brings the price of shipping high so I am giving first bid and buy it now at a good price. buyer pays shipping and will be shipped with tracking and confirmation. Keuffel & Esser K&E Vintage Navy Spyglass, Telescope, Brass, Leather Clad, Nice!
This is a wonderful Keuffel& Esser Spyglass Telescope. It is an"Officer of the Deck" model with 12.5 power optics. It comes clad in leather with a leather strap. It's in really great condition with an authentic vintage appearance. The optics are crystal clear and produce a surprisingly sharp and bright image. K&E produced high quality drafting. Engineering, and marine devices with optics to be used every day, not simply for decoration, although their equipment are truly works of art. The leather seam along the tube has split, but it seems to be well adhered and not in danger of coming off. Also, someone has sanded a spot on the sight tube. This was where the inscription"U.S. Navy, Officer of the Deck" used to be. It was also on the leather, but was scraped off there as well. I did enough time in the Navy to ... morerecognize when somebody wanted a piece of gear they weren't supposed to have. Getting caught with or trying to sell equipment labeled"US Navy" was highly frowned upon, so somebody tried to cover their aft end here. The K&E logo is still clear on the leather, as well as"Power 12 1/2" Officer of the Deck" can be made out under a loupe in the right light. Other than that, there is no damage to speak of. It is in fantastic structural shape and has a nice weighty and solid feel to it. The leather is still supple with some darkening from age in spots. On the eyepiece there is an amber glass lens that can be slid into place to cut down the glare on bright, sunny days. The scope is 17" long closed and 22 1/5" long opened. Please note that in the photo with the can that the can is standard size and the spyglass is not fully opened. Vintage 60 " Wooden Tripod May Be David White or Keuffel Esser Examine Photos
Brass& Wood(Oak? Surveyor's Tripod 3 1/2 by 8 with legs 5 feet or 60"s tall There are no makers marks left on this tripod. It appears to be made by David White after looking on e-bay at others of it's kind(a real close look may show a small part of a red decal) It was used on a Sokkisha transit so it may even be a Keuffel& Esser. I don't know. The only markings that are left on it are the serial number of 74867 and the thread size stamped on the head of 8 3/12 and the numbers on the ground spikes of 298-3. The thread cap appears to have been replaced as it appeared to be made of plastic but it could be bakelite which might make it original. I wish I could give you more but if you know about these things you should be able to identify it's maker with all of the pictures I posted. WW1 Era Antique Keuffel Esser Stadimeter Original Wood Box Nautical Instrument
We acquired this-and other antique nautical equipment- at a local auction recently. We will be listing much of it for sale here on eBay. You can see the collection in our eBay store in the section titled: TRANSPORTATION- Boats& Waterways. Here we are offering a Keuffel Esser Stadimeter in original box serial#34105 The box is solid wood. 1/2 thick with dove tail construction. There are built in, felt tipped, wood block supports inside the box to hold the Stadimeter in place. There are metal handles on both ends of the box. The box is missing one interior support. One of the latches on the front of the box has come off. But it still in the box so it can be reattached. The lid is slightly warped so it does not close flat/ mesh with the bottom- ie one corner is lifted up when you close the lid. The finish of the box's exterior shows age ... moreand wear. The box measures approx 12 5/8" long. 6 1/2" tall, and 6 3/4" deep The Stadimeter measures approx base 10" 3 1/2" wide/ 4 1/2" high handle is made of wood and it measures 3 3/4" long and 1" thick and 1 7/8" wide the brass view scope screws into the mount and has nice clear. Powerful lens Not knowing exactly how this works we can not say for certain that all the parts are here.but it looks complete to us. Based on the manufacturer- and the dates they were in operation-this appears to be from the WW1 Era. Or earlier. Nice overall condition except as noted above- See all the photos for details. Up for auction is a Keuffel& Esser balloon theodolite from the Navy in a metal case. Balloon meaning I believe it was used by the Navy in WWII to track meteorological balloons. The number on the box indicates it is number 88650 and it is also what is stamped on the label/mfg tag on the unit itself. It appears to be in good working condition and in two parts- the instrument itself and a gimbal mount. Shipping to US addresses via UPS only or can be picked up in Pittsburgh or Baltimore. Here is a Keuffel& ESSER Beginner's slide rule. The glass piece has a crack but it is still use able The slide rule moves smoothly and has no imperfections in the writing on either side. But on the inside under the slide, there are some blocked letters or marks of some kind, maybe an inch in length. There are some smudges from dirty hands, that probably could be removed.
