For sale is a Vintage K& E(Keuffel& Esser) 4081-3 Log Log Duplex Decitrig Slide Rule with hard leather case. Based on available K&E information. This slide rule dates to the early 1950s. It has a serial number of 766579 on a model that was sold mid-40s to mid-50s. The instrument measures 12” in length. The case has been personalized(see photos) and the top flap of the case is missing. There is also an ink smudge on the case. The slide rule shows the patina that one would expect from 60 years in and out of a leather case. Otherwise the instrument is in good working condition. Vintage 1947 Keuffel & Esser Log Log Duplex Decitrig Slide Rule
Thank heavens this thing had some printing on the side that allows me to describe it as something other than just a slide rule. It was copyrighted in 1947 by K&E. It is a model N4081-3 and the serial number is 532084. It is in excellent condition having been protected for the last twenty years or so by the leather case which you are also buying. The name of the original owner. RL Bullard, is embossed on the slide rule and written in ink on the inside of the flap of the K&E case. All parts slide as they should and all numbers are readable. There is no damage to the piece.

Established in 1884, sold rules from 1886, began manufacturing their own rules in 1891 and continued until 1976. Over the course of their history Keuffel& Esser became the largest manufacturer of slide rules in the US. In 1967, Keuffel& Esser, commissioned a study of the future. This is a Doric Lettering Set made by Keuffer& Esser Co. in the early 1960s. It appears to have been used once to see how it worked. Then never used again. The wood case is in good condition with a little surface corrosion on one hinge. Most of the original box is present(the ends have been removed) I don't know enough about this item to tell you if all pieces are present. What you see is what is present.

This is a vintage Kueffel& Esser Co(copyright in 1947) Log Log Duplex Decitric slider ruler in good condition. The slider ruler itself is in good shape but has discolored to a yellowish/light brown color. The metal peice show little to no wear. The slider piece is in good shape and it slides easily as does the middle piece of the ruler. There is a name engraved on the slide ruler as shown in the second picture. The case however has seen better days as both ends are missing but it does cover the slide ruler for protection from further damage. This is a nice lightly used Keuffel& Esser(K&E) Deci-Lon 10 Model 68 1100 Slide Rule. The professional engineer and scientist have found this Deci-Lon to be an extremely versatile calculating instrument. This K&E comes with a case. The slide and body have matching numbers. All parts are present and function as they should. The glass on both sides of the Indicator are clear and do not have any cracks or chips. The body does have a small piece missing from the bottom right end. This piece has no affect on the operation/function of this slide rule and is hardly noticeable. The hard leather case is of high quality and will definitely protect the slide rule. There is a leather belt loop attachment on the back. The leather has split due to age. K& E was founded in 1867 and began making surveying instruments in 1885. And this appear to be one of their earlier models. Compass is 5 1/4" in diameter, and it appears to be in perfect working order with both level bubbles functioning and the original glass intact and undamaged. The brass has a great old color and patina and has not been touched or polished in years, if ever. It is 5 1/2" long with stainless steel blades and high speed steel points. The second item is#816 steelspring Bow Pen with central thumbscrew. It is 3 3/4" long. I am guessing the transit is from the same time- the 1940's. The serial number is 91448 which is stamped on the transit and it was made in New York. Vintage K&E Surveyor Theodolite Transit w/case ASKANIA Germany KEUFFEL & ESSER
You are bidding on this beautiful VINTAGE KEUFFEL& ESSER or K& E. THEODOLITE SURVEYORS TRANSIT made by ASKANIA in WESTERN GERMANY. Model KE- 6e. I was told that this came down from Alaska and was used on the last major highway built. The item has sign of wear as you can see in the pics. The knob on the side of the transit has what appears to be fingernail polish on it as well as a small red smudge just above it. see pic) It come with the original strap which is in good shape. The strap is suppose to be secured to the clips on each side of the cover but a few screws are gone so one side does not stay in place, this should be an easy and inexpensive fix for someone who has time. Looks like there was a K& E logo on the side of the cover but it has worn away due to use in the field. On the base portion of the transit it looks like ... moresomeone scratched an area exposing a gray colored metal. The lower left corner of the cross hairs has some kind of a smudge or something on it. May just need some cleaning from someone who knows something about these and how to clean them. Selling an antique Keuffel& Esser transit level. Includes tripod. Case, book, plumb bomb and black detachable piece for objective lens. Book is copyrighted 1950: its a little crumpled but readable and usable- cover is loose. Level seems to be in working order. Tripod has some duct tape on the top of one leg covering a crack- see photo- it is still fully functional. Box has some wear: strap is a little deteriorated on the end, initials written on side, etc. See photos for more detail. Any questions, please ask. Item will be shipped in two boxes. Antique K&E Keuffel & Esser Polyphase Slide Rule c1915, 4053-3
Up for auction is a Keuffel& Esser model 4053-3 polyphase slide rule in mahogany and laminated celluloid. From what I've read. This particular variation of this model is the second in the long line of 4053s and was most likely produced in 1915 or 1916. The cursor is frameless but still has the metal ends that were changed to plastic immediately after this variation. There is no serial number only mating numbers(pictured but do not match: 247 and 274 so they are from different rules or the worker was dyslexic) It still has the 1900 patent date and has no K&E logo on the reverse side. Overall it is in very good condition considering it is nearly 100 years old! There is some yellowing of the celluloid and aging of metal components but the wood still retains a nice gloss. Keuffel & Esser Co. – Doric - Lettering Set # 61 3130
Pretty nice set for it's age. I believe all of the contents to be present, but wouldn't know for sure. The item to the right has some sort of fluid in it which I believe to be ink(as I see some old dry spills on the inside near it. Also. I'm thinking that the compass may have been added, as it's from a different manufacturer, but will include it anyway. The Green letter rule has"Doric K& E Co. 8905" on it. The case and snaps seem to show very little wear for it's age. Of the drafting tools I auctioned, I'd say this shows the least use and wear of them. The inside of the case lid does has some minor denting from items pressing up to it. It doesn't seem to show on the lid top though. Not being a draftsman. And inheriting this. I’d be somewhat curious as to how you get lettering out of this in the first ... moreplace as the template is only an impression. Whereas I’d think a writing instrument would have to go through to write on the blueprint. Note: If you are concerned about ink spillage. Please let me know before shipping(you may have to let me know how to open the cartridge) and I will be glad to empty it before shipping. Not used in at least 30 and probably about 40 years, it's hard to figure that the ink didn't dry up inside. This K&E(Keuffel& Esser) Paragon" proportional divider is 10 inches long and in excellent working condition with no issues. A fine example of elegant and durable German engineering. This precision instrument features a rack and pinion adjustment to allow to you make very accurate fine adjustments to your settings. A set-wheel insures that your settings will remain accurate as you open the dividers and adjust your dimensions. Weighing in at almost five ounces, the dividers are hefty and solid. While the points on this instrument are in perfect condition. Set screws allow you to remove and replace the stainless steel points. The number 274 is stamped on the inside of the legs, see photo. This instrument has acquired a slight patina over the years as it has never been cleaned, but if you want to spend some time it would polish up ... moreto a like-new sheen. There is no damage to any part of the dividers as shown in the photos. No cleaning or restoration work has been performed and the dividers are being offered in"as-is" cosmetic, but excellent working condition. The original case is lined with green velvet-like or velour material in brand-new condition. And is sculpted and padded to securely hold and protect the dividers. The black, textured hard case has very little wear as it has been sitting in my desk drawer for the last 38+ years. The case closes with two spring loaded, silver-colored metal clasps that are in perfect working order. There is a small K&E logotype tastefully embossed in gold foil in the lower right corner of the top or front of the case. The Table of Settings, printed on a metal plate and attached to the bottom of the case is in mint condition with no marks, dents or scratches. This is a Charles Walton RFID Inventor Used keuffel& Esser Slide Ruler. This ruler is a piece of history it belong to Charles Walton inventor of RFID, it has his name carved and written in pen in the leather case also it has his IBM dept unmber carved in the back of the case, this is one of a kind piece, it shows wear as it was used, theres a small crack on the slide part that takes measurement can be seen in the 1st picture, will be great for any collector buy it today. You are viewing a VINTAGE. LIKE NEW MINT CONDITION KEUFFEL& ESSER LEROY LINE SPACING STRAIGHTEDGE MODEL 3239-S. The straightedge looks like it was very lightly used. It has been stored in it's original paper cover which is also included. Total length is 15" This appears to be an extremely rare item. As far as I can tell there are no others being sold currently on eBay or anywhere else for that matter. The best time to buy something this unusual is as soon as you find it. In the images there is some old masking tape. There is nothing wrong with the straightedge. I think is was put on there to create friction. Have a great day and good luck bidding. Antique, vintage surveyor's transit Keuffel & Esser Co. 1923
This is an antique Keuffel and Esser surveyor's instrument. Made of brass. According to the published chart of K&E serial numbers, it was made in 1923. The serial number is 45937. Condition is used. It appears to be complete and undamaged. This engineer's tool includes the case(broken) the sunshade and lens cap. It does NOT include the tripod. Please e-mail me with any questions.

Antique KEUFFEL AND ESSER 4053-2 Glass Cursor Wood 3 Slide Rule Pat 1900
Slide rule measures approximately 8-5/8" when not extended. Glass cursor appears to have been broken& reglued at the corner. Works fine. The leather case appears to be missing the fold-over flap at the end. Condition Shows signs of wear consistent with normal use and aging. There are some etchings on the back from the previous owner.
