These transits were one of the last American made transits offered for sale in the United States. This is one of the last of those. Keuffel& Esser had a long and notable run in the industry beginning back in the 1860's. The transit itself stands about 14" tall and it has a 12" scope. The optics are clear and crisp and has a 4" gold plated needle. The crosshairs present. The compass works as it should and the serial number of 179223 is on a label under the glass. CHAMPION KEUFFEL& ESSER CO. MADE IN USA This auction is for what I believe is a 100' surveyors steel reel tape measurer. The increments of feet and inches are different from a regular tape measurer. I unwound it to see and found the increments to be in feet. The center inside starts at 910 to 810. Jumps to 719 to 710, 619 to 610, etc. to 110. Then goes 19' 18' down to 10' then the inches. Handle in good condition. Shows little wear. The crank works well- reels up the steel tape easily. The first few feet of the steel tape has light surface rust. I rubbed it with steel wool and it cleans up nicely. In very good vintage condition. PAYMENT POLICY I accept PayPal only. Payment must be made within 4 days after auction ends. It has some writing on the backside, it could use a cleaning it has some ink on the edge and I don't know if any parts are missing. The 2-way switch allows you to run the center bulb or the center and outer round fluorescent bulb together. Both sockets work well. Some minor scuffs and scratches from use. There is a small dent on the metal shade shown in the pictures. The switch on the back of the shade has a slight bend but works fine. The dividers come in their original velvet-lined case with the original outer box casing as well. This is a set that looks to be in good used condition. Previous owners name on insiede of flap. 2) KEUFFEL& ESSER BEGINNERS#N4058W in a bad sheath. Rule is real nice. 3) HEMMI'S#34 in worn leather case. 4) SUPERULE 1928 copyright from the SUPER CEMENT CO in Detroit for the DRAGON CO. Comes with hard leather? case and paper. 5) F. WEBER ruler# 4437c marked EVANS two sided with worn leather case. 6& 7) WOOD six inch rulers from different makers. Everything in used but pretty decent condition. Vintage K + E -- Keuffel & Esser N1106 Drafting/Drawing Instrument Set **Nice**
Wonderful Set. It comes in its Original Box. Fitted Case and Interior Vapeur Nox Rust paper. The box shows just a touch of wear but the set is Mint showing No wear. it looks to be complete but there is one small space that is empty. The small viles have lead on one and points in the other. They don't make them any better than this set.
