Keuffel & Esser Co. Compensated English Pocket Barometer & Case England Made
Vintage pocket barometer with old velvet lined case. It's fairly heavy for its size so I think it is made of varnished brass. It has a silvered dial and moveable bezel for altitude measurement. The needle is blued. The front of the dial says Keuffel& Esser Co. NY, Compensated, and Made in England. The back has a few small scratches near the adjustment screw and says Trade Mark London in the middle. The case is old, in two pieces now, and the back is hanging on by a thread, almost literally. The barometer fits snugly in the case. It passed the plastic bag test and the needle appears to be moving with the weather, but I have not tested or calibrated it so sold as-is due to vintage age and obviously worn case. Keuffel& Esser Co. has a famous history as one of the first true scientific instruments dealers in the US, particularly for ... moredrafting and surveying. This item is not only a remarkable english-made scientific instrument, but carries an interesting purveyor pedigree as well. Low starting bid for an item that was probably used by late 19th century surveyers.

Beautifully illustrated with pages accented in color as seen in the 4th photo. Paper samples on the inside of the front cover. 548 pages. Some very light insect damage at the bottom of pages 535 thru 548(tiny holes) Edges of pages are yellowed. Binding is tight with no loose pages. Keuffel& Esser- Kollman Synchro/Synchrotel Test Fixture. I don't know much about this piece. I am selling this for a friend. It was his grandfather's. I have done numerous research and cannot quite figure out what it is. From what I can gather is this piece was developed by the Keuffel& Esser Company which manufacured surveying equpiment. The other company listed on the piece is the Kollman Company which manufactured altimeters for airplanes. I believe this piece was developed for military purposes in the 1940's but I am not sure. It says on line that it was used onB-29's for their gunnery sysytems. The selsyns would transmitt a angular position to a remote reciever to control movement of the guns. These are two vintage sliderules The larger is a Dietzgen Maniphase Multiplex with Decimal Trig. Type Log Log Rule Cat. No. 1732 Rule typically used in Engineering School. Because I used one. It is in great shape except for the slide edge supports which are chipped and cracked. But the rule still works great. It comes with heavy well used Dietzgen case. The second sliderule is a smaller Keuffel& Esser Co. N.Y. No 4041 rule with the slide for one side only and has a Inch Scale on one side and a Metric Scale on the other. One the back is aan Equivalents and Abbreviations from the U.S. Bureau of Standards circular No. 47 by Keuffel& Esser Co. New York. This rule is in great shape and the only flaw that I see is one very small edge chip on the glass slide. Up for sale is a vintage K + E surveyor's pocket bubble level. It is in great working condition as is the original leather case included. When looking through the sight the bubble is plainly visible and the horizontal reference looks to be straight. The leather case is in very good shape. Especially considering its age. The cover snaps down securely and the carrying strap is fully functional and adjustable. This is not a museum piece, but a working man's tool of the trade. The paint on the body of the sight is chipped, especially along the corners(see pictures) The leather of the case is a bit dry, but is undamaged. These seem to be the only issues regarding condition. Plumb bob, shade, brush, hood, glass lenses and all the other extras you see. Transit is number P5085C. And serial number is 161700. This model is from the late 1950s. The box has the same serial number as the unit. This is a large and heavy transit. Measures almost 14.5 inches tall(out of box. Still on plate) A very nice unit, barely any scratches on the textured black finish(only scratches I really see are on the lens cap) When you look through the scope, the view is crystal clear and the hairline grid is all there. The focus wheel works as it should. The box has wear and scratching on the outside as well as some small holes. But it's pretty standard for the wooden boxes to look this way. 1950s Keuffel & Esser survey scope construction level instrument brass
I have for sale this American made painted brass level. It was built like a tank in the 1950s. Very heavy and should be vibration free. Its serial number dates it to 1958. This level appears fully functional to us, the glass is clean, cross hairs are very visible, it has adjustments that are all moving and a degree scale to turn angles. It also has a brass lens cap for the front lens. This level fits a 3.5 inch screw head tripod with a#8 screw pitch(3.5x8) Don't buy junk from over seas get high quality from the past. 50ft Vintage 1921-1942 Dartmouth Keuffel& Esser Highway and Railroad Tape Measure Leather Covered Case in great condition. I've owned this tape measure for over 15 years. It's one of the best out of my collection of old tape measures. It is by far the best Dartmouth tape measure Ive seen and I have been looking online and antiquing for the past eight years. Here is a little back story on the history of the Dartmouth. Great condition for its age. There is no significant signs of wear. I've had it for the last 15 years and have never used it and it doesn't look like it was used much before that If you look at the photos you'll see no major wear. I pulled out the entire 50 feet and it looked uniform. Dartmouth Metallic Woven Tape measure. 7442T, made by Keuffel& Esser Co. New York, no date, between 1920-1940. Embossed ... moreleather covered metal case, 4-1/8" diameter x 7/8" thick, with nickel plated folding crank handle; 50 foot long x 5/8" wide white woven tape with black graduations, feet, inches and half inches; ring end in measurements. Product line and manufacturer's name appear in embossed lettering on both sides. Tape length is marked on crank handle. Model number does not appear on object. While the Dartmouth line precedes the 36th edition catalog of 1921. A tape in this line with 1/2" markings was first offered in that catalog and through the 38th edition in the leather case. Interim war edition, 39th, was issued in 1943. K& E had their main office and factories in Hoboken when this item was made. Posted with

Up for your consideration is a Keuffel& Esser No. 5136 Special survey transit No. NP5082H. Serial#158277. It comes in the original wooden box with instructions, a plumb bob, and some other accessories. It is in working condition with various scratches. The mount is 3 1/2 x 8, there is no compass, and one of the window covers is missing a small piece(see photos) The instructions have some tears and water damage, the box has some veneer damage, the lock and one latch are missing, and the handle has been replaced. Please ask any questions you might have. Make sure to look at the other related items that I currently have listed. I mainly use Fed Ex even though the calculator shows it as UPS. The price will remain the same. I get far better service from them than UPS.
