An antique Hammond model 2 Universal Typewriter with its original Oak Bentwood Cover. Dating to circa 1900. We are pleased to present this antique Hammond model 2 Universal Typewriter for your consideration. Built on an Oak base. The Typewriter is complete with its original bentwood cover. This Hammond model is noted for several innovative features. Including an interchangeable type shuttle which allowed different type styles(fonts) to be used. Similar to the interchangeable type balls used on IBM Selectric Typewriters. We date this Typewriter to around 1900. The Typewriter(with cover in place) measures 7-1/8 inches high. 14 inches wide, and 14-3/4 inches deep. It weighs 19 pounds 10 ounces. A portion of an original instruction sheet is found affixed to the inside of the cover(and can be seen in the last picture) While in good shape overall. ... moreWe did note some issues during our inspection of the machine. The metal clip on the base that secures the cover on the right side is bent outward. The cover has a few chips on the top right edge(towards the back) and shows scattered small spots of paint, mostly on its top surface. The Typewriter Platen shows general crazing, with some loss of surface material(see close-up photo) The thin bar at the front that lifts has a broken weld joint(see close-up photo, we've secured it with tape to prevent further damage during shipping) We did not attempt to test the Typewriter, but the mechanical condition seems good. Keys depress properly. The space bar moves the carriage. Metal components are generally clean and free from any excessive dirt build up. We rate the overall condition as very good. Address is shown as 265 Broadway. New York. I can see that there is a stamped serial number but I can't make it out. This appears to be in complete working order. Knobs turn. Buttons push. Vintage Antique Remington Standard Typewriter Model No 9
Auction is for a Remington Standard Typewriter No. 9. Based on the Number on the front. It was manufactured in 1933-1941. Most were made before 1938. I have not seen many of the#9's out there. Maybe they are harder to find? I do not know. It needs a good cleaning. We did no cleaning to it due to not knowing how to clean it. Keys appear to stike okay but this does need to be serviced. There are a few keys missing. We are no experts on how to do that. Look at pictures and ask any questions you may have before you bid. There is a spooled ribbon in it but needs to be changed. Great item maybe just for the parts you need or to service and make a great typewriter. You experts will know what to do. Payment must be received by no later than two days of the auction ending.

Offered for sale is the Sears Malibu portable typewriter. This typewriter is in good shape- red and blue ribbon intact. Case is in the trendy 1960's aqua blue. SMITH CORONA SKYRITER TYPEWRITER/FIRST DESIGNED FOR AIRLINE FOLD DOWN TRAY c1950
This is a no reserve auction for a Smith Corona Skyriter portable typewriter from the mid 20th century. I had no idea this typewriter might be either historic or collectible until I was watching TV one night and saw the actor Tom Hanks was being interviewed by either David Letterman or Jay Leno and when asked about his unusual hobby of collecting old typewriters got excited explaining how he had Smith Corona Skyriter typewriter which was the first specifically designed to be compact and light enough to fit on the fold down trays on airliners. This was all news to me. I just got this today and checked all the keys and levers and everything works exactly as it always had. I know my father bought this when he was taking some University courses back in the late'40s or early'50s. I last used it the 1980's and it was a very reliable ... moregood typewriter. It would probably still fit on an airliner tray today. The typewriter itself is in very nice condition. Of course the ink is dried out on the ribbon but I still managed to type out some faint letters. The cover snaps on over the top to turn it a compact which can be carried by the handle. The top cover is metal and unfortunately it did get scratched a fair amount. I guess USPS Parcel Select is what used to be Parcel Post. I have not done much to estimate the true packed weight and size. I might change some details there but will try to keep the cost down as much as possible. Payment is through PayPal. This typewriter was made in Italy by Olivetti. It closely resembles the ET 115 and has a computer interface with 25 pin parallel ports. It is a full size office typewriter and has many functions. You may need to acquire a user manual for the more advanced functions but the basics are self explanatory. It works great. The dust cover is not connected at one hinge and I could not figure out how to get the black plastic paper guide installed but those issues do not affect the performance(they are at most a mild inconvenience) The ribbon and correction tape seem to be good for now. You can type and display words on the LCD before they are printed out. You also have control of the pitch as well as print type(such as underline or black with white letters etc. The paper feed is electronic. Just turn the wheel 1/4 turn either direction.

1930's REMINGTON RAND MODEL 1 PORTABLE TYPEWRITER W/ CASE Beautiful Condition!
Here's a scarce portable typewriter bearing the Remington-Rand name. Rather than just Remington, which is seen much more frequently. This is the Model 1, produced from 1933 to the early 1940s. Glass keys, 3 position switch for the ribbon color, still in nice working condition Some of us still like to clack away on a"real" typewriter instead of tapping on a keyboard- at least once in awhile. This is a nice collector's item. The case is in quite good shape- just some missing leather from the handle. But no dents or serious damage. Which allows the typewriter to be used as a computer PRINTER(text only) when connected to a computer* This typewriter is full-featured: Auto-correction. Centering, ability to change font pitch/line spacing/margins. The typewriter keeps the last two lines of text in memory(max 254 characters per line) and can auto-correct any character on those two lines. Characters outside the typewriter's memory are corrected by manually selecting the character to be erased. Erasures are performed with dry, lift-off tape. Everything that came with the typewriter when it was new is also included. Specifically. Power cord, durable carrying case, plastic cover, instruction manual.
