Keys work freely and do not stick but the cable that makes the carriage functional is disconnected which can be seen in the 7th photo. Paint and decals are very nice on this machine and although it needs cleaned its not bad.

Smith Corona Portable Typewriter (Skyriter?) w/case - For Parts/Restoration
Up for consideration is a Smith Corona portable typewriter for parts or restoration. I can find no markings on the unit identifying the model. But based on pictures I've found on the net and other eBay listings this appears to be a Skyriter model. Cosmetically. The typewriter is in fair/good condition and shows the unit was used extensively, with scratches, worn paint on space bar, notable pitting on some of the chrome parts, appears to be missing the'Skyriter' plate behind the carriage, etc. and needs a good cleaning. Carry case is in fair/good condition, and has evidence of having been exposed to moisture, both in appearance and a slightly musty odor. Please use zoom feature and examine pictures carefully. Though it is mostly functional. The typewriter is being offered specifically for parts or restoration. Functionally, the"Z" ... morekey sticks every time and requires extra oomph to get it to print, and the"2" key stuck occasionally when I was testing it. There is some ghosting of some typed characters which may be a key/carriage advance calibration issue. Ribbon advance mechanism is functional, as are shift, shift lock, return/roller advance mechanism, backspace keys, roller tension mechanism, carriage release, etc. and the margin bell dings. The curved oak veneer case is in poor/fair condition in 2 large section needing restoration(most of it appears to be there) There is one strip of wood on back edge of typewriter base that is missing. It was in use sporadically for typing envelopes and such until recently. I rearranged my office and decided I no longer wanted the bulky typewriter table taking up space so the typewriter also had to go. This machine is exceptionally clean and everything about it works as new. This typewriter has 10. 12 and 15 point fonts; it has 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5 line spacing; there is a code key for special functions; a correction key for fixing mistakes; and it does centering and decimal tabbing. There is already an ink cartridge in the machine and an almost full correction cartridge.
