Up for your consideration is this RARE Vintage 1950's mid-century tape dispenser. It is butterscotch yellow with a very sleek straight body and seems to be made from a heavy plastic. Hope it's not Bakelite. But it looks like it) Jan Sun had patents pending from numerous countries as shown on the bottom. I can't find another dispenser like this. Approx. 7 1/4" long x 2 3/4" wide x 2 1/4" high. The dispenser part has a tricky way of opening. I'll let you try to figure it out. As I did. You can always contact me and I'll tell you the secret. Vintage 50's Desk Top Weighted Tape Dispenser ~ RETRO ~ BABY PINK ~ HTF
Thank you for viewing my auction. Up for auction is a HARD-TO-FIND Vintage 50's Desk-Top Weighted Tape Dispenser in a BABY PINK color. It is 7.25" long. 2.75" wide and 3" tall at the back. It has a standard 1" tape wheel. It is weighted and heavy, so you can dispense tape with one hand. The bottom is a black rubberized material of some sort, so I think it may have originally had a felt piece glued on the bottom, which could easily be replaced. The PINK color is very unusual(it is a real PINK. Not the more common coral pink) and would be perfect for your retro office or kitchen desk. This was in my Mother's pink kitchen at the phone table/desk from the 50's through the 90's, so it has been well used. There are some chips, dings, scratches and hairline cracks. The chip along the bottom edge is about 1" ... morelong and there are lots of little chips along the top edge. There is also some tape residue, which should come off. I have just removed the old tape that was stuck on and then went over it with a damp cloth. Please zoom in on the photos as they are an important part of the description. This is very heavy.
