1893 Columbian Exposition World's Fair Portfolio 24 Photos FIRST Ferris Wheel
From Texas Estate: 24 photograph portfolio from the Columbian Exposition/World's Fair in Chicago in 1893. Including photo of the world's first ferris wheel, invented by George Washington Gale Ferris as a landmark for the exposition. 9 x 12 photos are in very good condition with some light edgewear. They are printed on heavy cardstock-type paper and each has a paragraph on the back explaining the significance of the image on the front. The red portfolio has quite a bit of soiling. Especially around the edges(120 years of fingerprints) It is still intact with a few small gouges holes in the cloth.

Fabulous Original HAUTE COUTURE Portfolio - 6 Hand-Colored Plates - Paris 1952
Offered for sale is this marvelous fashion portfolio. Triomphe du Velours dans la Haute Couture Parisienne" Triumph of Velvet in Parisian Haute Couture) This was printed in Novmber. 1951, to present the upcoming Spring 1952 collections, and featured designs by the real lions of the Paris fashion scene in the early 1950s. The paragraph on the back cover states that the portfolio was printed in a limited edition of 1100, and that the individual illustrations were hand-colored. This portfolio is number 973. The portfolio and the drawgins measure 14-1/2 inches high x 10-1/4 inches wide, and the whole is in absolutely splendid vintage condition. The covers are covered in a wax paper, and the individual drawings are on an off-white paper, with the white accents painted in to show starkly against the creamy background. Each drawing also features ... morean original swatch of the fabric used in the clothing. Each drawing shows the designer's name, along with titles and notes. The cover is by milliners Maud et Nano, and the plates then are by Antonio Castillo for Jeanne Lanvin, Pierre Balmain, Jacques Fath, Jean Dessés, Cristòbal) Balenciaga, and Christian Dior. Inscribed in pencil on the inside back cover is"Spring 1952. The plates are absolutely stunning. And their colors are a fresh and bright as the day they were colored. They would frame up to create a truly stunning wall display, but the lucky new owner may wish to keep them in their original state, to protect them from sun fading. It is in English.German and Japanese and the Text is by Clara Tanner. Ray Monley has some incredible portraits, and landscapes. The Book is 12"x10" and is 32 pages long, but those 32 pages have incredible Camera work, color shots of the Begays, he spent a lot of time with Navajo family's and in their environs of Chelly Canyon. Faye W. Barkley(1898-1981) had a photography studio in Belton. Texas in the 1940's and 1950's. In 1944 Barkley purchased a Speed Graphic camera. This became his primary tool for documenting the small town events of Belton and the surrounding area. In the circus photos presented here Barkley shows a remarkable ability to make the most of the hand-held Speed Graphic by combining the mobility of the camera with its powerful bulb flash. The camera produced 4 x 5 in. negatives from which these prints were made. Barkley's views of a circus visiting his home town of Belton. Texas shows another time long lost. Set of 10 SPACE HEROES PRINTS Classic Sci-Fi Art Portfolio w/ folder #548/1500
This complete"Space Heroes" portfolio by Al Williamson and Frank Frazetta features 10 plates of previously unpublished art. Williamson signed Plate 1 and numbered it#548 out of 1.500. Each plate is 11"x16" and comes in the blue and black illustrated folder. Both Williamson and Frazetta are known for their depictions of space opera fantasy, and this portfolio is an excellent sample of their iconic work. The portfolio was a limited edition of 2.500 copies from Earthart Graphics, with only 1,500 that were hand signed and numbered by Williamson. This portfolio is#548/1500 of the signed copies. Illustrated folder and plates 2-10 are in near mint condition. Plate 1 has a ruffled top edge(not impacting the art) and is otherwise in excellent condition.
