Beautiful Solid Wood Antique Post Office Desk
A wonderful antique post-office desk that has been in my family for 20 years(originally purchased in Texas) We're finally selling it to prepare for a move to the East Coast. The desk is 54" long by 35" wide by 71" tall. It's solid and very sturdy. The cubbies are detachable from the main desk(so not too bad to move) There is wear consistent with its original use and age. The stain has worn down in some places and there's one small chip on a drawer. It's a great piece of American history- and remains both stylish and utilitarian! This is a all wood 3 shelve wall or desk top unit. It's made mostly of 3/4" wood( wood type is unknown) The backing is a thin paneling with 4 mounting holes. The top and botton have a Crown Mold look and each shelf is spaced to approx. 5" apart. It's current color is a Gray and Mauve but can be quickly re-painted. This shelf did not come as a kit from a store it was made by wood worker from scratch. It measures approx. 20.5"tall x 14.5"wide x 5.5"deep it has an arched front. From what I can read on the partial sticker below the switch. This is called the CIRCULA. Its made by a company that has a EM in the middle of their logo, and they were located in Philadelphia. ring a bell? This fan stands 8 3/4 inches tall, and is 10" wide. It is as found with the exception of the replaced cord. The existing cord was shot and I needed to see the extent of any damages before listing. I also added a new grommet. It has a two speed switch(left- off- right. I assume center is off) The fan operates when switched to the right, and I believe this is the slower setting. The finish is really good for its age and looks like wood. its steel. It is missing one rubber foot. The blades are steel and have what looks like brass colored film over them, this film is pealing at the edges.
