this is an exquisite antique Silver Crest heavy bronze victorian note pad. it is very heavy and made from thick bronze with a thick ornate decorative design embossed on the face of the pad. the top opens and closes on a hinge and has a boxed top in which a pen can be placed for storage. the back plate is also bronze and very heavy with a felt bottom to avoid scratching surfaces it sits on. it is in good working shape and has a wonderful patina from age. measures 7 1/2 by 4 3/4 inches. 1945 WW2 Letter with Xmas Greetings from Attorney on a Title Company Notepad
This is a great WW2 time frame letter with Christmas greetings and envelope. The envelope has an attorney's printed return address and is postmarked 1945. Envelope has no postage stamp. The note inside is extremely casual! It reads"Merry Xmas Della" written on a note paper from the California Pacific Title Company of San Jose. Strange! Overall the note is in excellent condition. But the envelope has been opened rather crudely. Still, a nice collectible. FYI: Shirlie Montgomery(1918-2012) The recipient of this letter, was one of the first women photo-journalists in the SF Bay Area and was a famed wrestling photographer as well, inducted into the Wrestling Hall of Fame. From June 1936 78 years old Nathan Goldblatt Sale Notepad. Very rare! His picture is on the front set in a star. The note paper is the original. And at the bottom is the name of the manufacturer D. Toepper. The metal I believe is brass and has engraving on the top and all sides. A very nice piece to add to any collection. The Brothers history follows; Goldblatt Bros. Inc. In 1905. Simon and Hannah Goldblatt moved with their children from Poland to Chicago. In 1914, two of their sons, Maurice and Nathan Goldblatt, opened a store at Chicago and Ashland Avenues, in a neighborhood that was then home to many Polish immigrants. Over the next 10 years, the firm's annual sales rose from about $15,000 to $1.4 million. As the operator of medium-size department stores that offered goods at low prices, Goldblatt Bros. prospered even during the Great ... moreDepression. By 1933, the company exceeded $20 million in annual sales, and owned five stores in Chicago, as well as stores in nearby Joliet, and Hammond, Indiana. Goldblatt's entered the city's high-rent retail district in 1936, when it opened a store on State Street. Here for your consideration is a vintage chalk ware notepad of a Afro-American women holding a broom from Miller Studios. This notepad is marked on the side. 1954 Miller Studio Inc. This piece does have a chip on the back of her head, some mild crazing on her left arm and some wear to the left of where a notepad would be. She measures 9" tall, 5 1/2" across at her widest part, 1 1/4" thick and weighs just under 1 1/2 lb. A very nice chalkware collectible that will add to any collection.

Antique 1800's Victorian Mauchline Tartan Ware Address Book Notepad With Pencil
This Mauchline Tartan Ware Address Book/ Notepad measures about 3" x 2" It has Tartan Ware Tartanware panels on both sides of the case. On one of the Tartan panels it says in gold letters Albert. Inside the front cover is a pocket which has a little card and a newspaper clipping. Attached to the bottom of the front cover is a red leather strip which holds the pencil. The Pencil is about 2 3/4" long. This little book is dated on the first page 1871. It has a brass toned hinge clasp at one end of the case. On the inside of the metal hinge flap it says SPELLER& BROOK/ LONDON. We have used a forward slash to show the beginning of a new line of print. This piece is in good vintage condition. It has some sort of residue on the front cover. About half way down, which we have not tried to remove. There is a tear inside the back ... morecover at the bottom and it looks like seven or eight pages have been removed from this book. There are about seventy remaining pages, twenty-two of these have been written on in pencil. The gilding on the edges of the pages is excellent. Please see photos.
