The megaphone-like lampshade has punched holes on the top. The longest point on the shade is 9" long. There is a wooden knob that turns, for the on/off switch. The cord is 5' long, and plugs into a wall socket. The lamp works and takes a regular light bulb. The finish on the base and on the shade show cracking. The battery case is in good condition with a little discoloration, but nothing major. This is a commercial use item, this is not a kids toy. I looked them up, Federal Sign and Signal still sell this item, new they start out at about $800.00 some people describe these as a fireman's speaker, or a portable sound system. Not unlike a megaphone. Marked Royal Porzellan Bavaria. KPM Germany, Handarbeit, and incised with the shape number, 673/0. The mark was used in the late 1940s. The dimensions are height of 8.5" Width up to 3.5" neck tapering to 1" wide, and base 2.25" wide. Condition is near-fine. With no chips, cracks, other damage, or grime.
