For your consideration is this George Nelson design sofa for Herman Miller. It is their Steel Frame line and this one features a 3 cushion design with an attached end table. It measures just shy of 8' long overall and 28" tall at the back. It is 26" deep overall with a seat height of about 16" The attached white laminate table measures 24x24" While I have no doubt the sofa is as described. It would appear that this one is unsigned. It does show an identifying mark from Northern Illinois University. It is a strikingly modern design that is long and low, very much in keeping with the mid-century aesthetic. It remains in very nice as found condition with only a smudge or two on the back and a small area of minor wear to the back of one corner. Nothing that detracts. THE ONLY SET currently available in the country at this price! Incredibly FABULOUS and RARE Peter Protzman zebrawood desk and credenza set for Herman Miller. This set was only produced for a short period in the early 70's(only 1970 and 1971) because it was found to be too expensive to produce in large quantity. The desk top is made of bent ply African zebrawood with a highly figured grain. The drawers are a smoked transparent lucite plastic. The frame is chromed steel that supports the top and forms the base. The mirror polished chromed solid steel legs look amazing paired with the exotic zebrawood. Put this in your swanky modern office and I am sure you will get more compliments than you have ever received on any other piece of furniture. Rectangular with central file drawer flanked by a file drawer at each end. Raised and framed by ... morechromed steel supports. Zebra wood is used on top. Drawer fronts and sloped desk back. Plastic center drawer and plastic side drawers. Desk is encased in a chrome frame. Manufactured by Herman Miller with labels in several places. Good vintage condition with imperfections due to age but this is a vintage set after all and can certainly be restored or used as is. Slight pitting on the chrome. The credenza has no fading but the desk has fading on both sides of the top. Scuffs and dings, wear and tear consistent with age. See pictures. Vintage, Walnut Herman Miller, George Nelson Designed 2 Pedestal Executive Office Desk and was most likely built between 1958 and 1963. The desk is from the Herman Miller Company’s Executive Office Group 8000 Series and is model 8865. The left pedestal has two drawers, an upper storage drawer and a lower file drawer. The right side is a 3-drawer pedestal. The"floating" walnut veneer desktop measures 84 inches long and 36 inches wide, 1-1/4 inch thick, and has a height of 29.5 inches. The attached privacy screen is in excellent condition. The desk is marked on two of the drawer handles with the Herman Miller name and logo, and has ... morelabels inside of two drawers that designate it as a George Nelson design. All of the drawers open and close smoothly and can be locked. There are 3 keys for the 2 locks. There are some small scratches, drill holes, tiny areas of veneer loss, an area of white paint, and areas of light fading. Holes were drilled into the top front of each pedestal to install plastic brackets to hold electric cords and two holes were drilled into the bottom of each pedestal. Overall this Herman Miller/George Nelson walnut desk is in very good vintage condition. See Photos) This desk easily disassembles for transport. The top can be removed with 6 bolts and the two pedestals are attached to the modesty screen with a few screws. The desk measures 28 inches wide by 60 inches long. It stands 29 inches high. The file drawer measures 16 inches wide and stands 16 inches high. These are"Basic Aerons" explanation to follow- and were relegated to board/waiting-room occasional use for several years: Eventually. They were"robbed" of some of their good parts- so that other chairs could prosper) and put into storage. As part of a clean up and recycle effort: We have replaced the seats and backs. Etc as needed, and installed New pneumatic lift cylinders to ensure a nice tight chair with no"wobble" then swapped around some arm cushions. And polished and touched-up as needed. They look great. Are fully functional, tested and guaranteed; and they're ready to roll another 15 years. The MESH on these chairs is Gray. Not Black: Herman Miller calls it ... moreNICKEL. The MFG color code is 3D03 The traditional Carbon Black color code is 3D01 The frame is the same"G1" Graphite found on the classic Carbon-Black-Meshed Aeron. The BASIC AERON is made of the same parts used in the"FULLY ADJUSTABLE" model. But a couple parts are"not included" and a few features are disabled. Specifically: Height control is the same. Lumbar support(not included) can be added to the back which is the same. Same seat. Same base and wheels. Tilt tension: the knob on the right is present in both models: it tensions the Big Spring which adjusts for the weight of the user and how much force is required to lean back in the chair. The Tilt LOCK is missing. However: this is the mechanism that Stops you from leaning back and keeps you upright regardless of posture or effort. Got it from a friend so I do not have the hand rest or the missing leg(rolling caster) There is damage on the seat the back of the seat and the 2 arms that hold it in the back got snapped off so it is safe to say the entire seat area needs to be replaced. I tested out the knobs and the hydraulic part that rises up and down and it works just fine I even sat on it and worked normal. The large back rest mesh is in perfect condition with no rips and the seat has a line in the middle where a line is cut. Also the foam that goes on the back center of the chair is missing. The hand rest looks like it is in good shape and can be adjusted up and down just fine.
