The condition is very good. There are no dents or chips to the finish. It is a recent estate purchase from a doctors home in the Boston area. It was in the master bedroom of the house since the 1960's and hadn't been used in some time. It measures about 37-1/2 inches tall by 24-1/2 wide by 21 deep. The fire box is about 23 inches wide by14 deep. The weight is approximately 80 pounds. It is designed to sit on the floor on its cantilevered legs as close as 6 inches from any wall. The chair has many authentic markings including a rare silver Herman Miller medallion and Z(for Zenith Plastics) The shell rests on an zinc plated"wall protective" 4 legged" H" base complete with 4 original white self-leveling plastic glides. The base extends further out in the rear so the shell edge does not rub the wall. The chair is known for it's comfort and durability. The shell is produced from fiberglass-reinforced plastic. Originally. The fiberglass was being used during the war to reinforce plastic on airplane ... moreradar domes. In according to the Eames fiberglass contract shell colors catalogue, this color was specified as RO(Red Orange) The fiberglass shell has the narrow shock mounts configuration. Up for your consideration is a rare circular white top dining table by Charles Eames for Herman miller circa 1955. This table features the out of production five star 670 base in unusual white with matching white stem and four adjustable chrome glides. Glossy vintage white laminate top with rubber edge. This is the same base used on the classic Eames 670 lounge chairs and is an exceptionally hard to find variation. Condition is very good. Some age appropriate wear to the white enamel paint, some small nicks on the stem, no significant damage. WoW! Took some research to find out about this one! I couldn't find anything like it! I emailed Herman Miller Co. with photos and they told me that these clocks were employee gifts. Many years ago. They were unable to confirm the exact age. Very rare! Measures 1-9/16" x 1-9/16" and features a metal casing that has a swivel portion to form a stand. Great logo on the face in red! Hands and stem are in red as well. Comes with a case and original paperwork. Wasn't working when I purchased at an estate sale. But just had a new battery installed and its working great now. This book does a fantastic job, both textually as well as pictorially, at conveying the ideas of the author. Herman Miller Aeron Chair Size B (needs minor repair, I made a video of it)
I am relisting this item because the woman who won this chair in a previous auction couple of weeks back paid for it. But did not come to pick it up. Therefore, I just refunded her money and am now relisting this chair. I am actually not certain of the size of this chair. I think it is a size B. Please see the yardstick in the video in the following paragraph to confirm. Frankly albeit anecdotally. The chair is comfortable for my 5 foot 2 inch mother, me at 5 feet 10 inches, and my 6 foot father. As you can see in this video of my a bolt sheared off. I suppose you can drill a hole with an electric drill. And then drive a replacement screw in but I am not sure. Also, the lumbar support(back support) shown in the video has some obvious damage. Otherwise, the chair is in very good condition. Herman Miller 2nd Generation Eames Fiberglass Armshell 1952
A nice early second generation Eames fiberglass arm shell from Herman Miller. With the larger shock mounts but no rope edge this is commonly referred as a transitional shell circa 1952. In subtle Lemon Yellow this is slightly translucent and has the solid metal X base. In very good condition for its age free of chips. Cracks, repairs etc. The metal base has light patina/oxidization which could easily clean with fine steel wool. A couple of the boot glides are cracked but still intact. An excellent example for its age. The last yellow shell I have for auction. Came from an estate that had tons of Herman Miller and Knoll furniture. Sorry the photos don't do this chair justice. Herman Miller Charles Eames Brazilian Rosewood Lounge Chair and Ottoman
This is one of two Eames chairs I'm selling. Both are from the early 70s. This one has the ottoman and is made with Brazilian Rosewood. They are in very good used condition. Never had children playing on them. Mostly sat in my sister's living room and were not used very often. As stated in description. She did have cats(we do as well) Brazilian Rosewood is no longer available as it's way too expensive and was stopped in the 1980s. The other chair I'm selling has cherry wood on the back.
