It take Brother TN-420& TN450 toner cartridges. It currently has a cartridge, but I don't know how much toner is left. It is not giving a low toner message on the display. All you need to do is plug it in and connect it to your phone line. I do not have the manual, but those are easy to download. I have a second machine available. But I believe it is missing the cord.
