This is a very beautiful. Well constructed, solid oak desk from the 1960s or 1970s. It has a fantastic wood grain that just shines and glows and charms. The desk has ample storage with a large center drawer. Two side drawers, and a file drawer. It is 63" x 33" and 29" high. It comes with an equally beautiful matching side work table that is 39" x 19" and 25" high. The side table has a shelf underneath and a five slot file organizer. Description This 1950s Mid-Century Modern Desk was manufactured by the Hoosier Desk Company in Jasper. Indiana. The company, started in 1915 as the Jasper Manufacturing Company, was renowned for its woodworking craftsmanship. This solid wood desk comes complete with its locking key as shown. Finding a mid-century desk with as much storage as this one is a rarity. In an overall medium-dark stain. This desk has 6 drawers-three on the left, two on the right and one center pencil drawer with the manufacturers original stamping inside. The five larger drawers each have adjustable dividers while the pencil drawer has a fixed wooden divider. The inside of all drawers are in it's natural wood tone, with a clear coat finish for protection. The bottom side of the center drawer has the words WAL 9560 printed on it. This is an absolutely stunning English Walnut Executive Desk from Dorchester House by Romweber Furniture This impressive piece dates to the mid 1970's and the registration plate shows number 2151 It would be extremely difficult to find a desk of this quality in today's market. It is English Walnut with substantial hardware. This is not pressed wood covered by veneer or an inexpensive import made to look impressive, it is timeless furniture made in the USA and is Heirloom Quality that can be passed from generation to generation. It is beautifully made and in absolutely EXCELLENT condition. From the first day it was put into use. It has had a custom cut piece of glass covering the top. This glass is of course included. The desk was never used without the glass on ... moretop so the top surface of the desk shows no wear. The finish on all parts of the desk is excellent. In some photos where there seems to be some discoloration. This is actually only dust that I did not realize that I had missed until I saw it on the pictures. Measurements: 84"wide x 45" deep There are 4 drawers on the right side. 3 on the left(including a file drawer that adjusts to fit letter or legal files) and one in the center. It also has a pull out writing surface on the front of the desk as well as writing surfaces that pull out on the right and left side above the drawers. Desktop is 30" from floor. Measurement from floor to bottom of center drawer is 24 1/2" the kneehole measures 28" at the bottom increasing to 30 1/2" The RomWeber company was founded in 1879 in Batesville. Indiana and created quality American made furniture. Romweber was my father-in-law's favorite furniture maker and he purchased and enjoyed many pieces over the years including this desk. Selling a very nice matching L-shaped executive desk and credenza set. There are a few scuffs and signs of wear. But it should be cleaned easily with some wood oil etc. Desk. Can be disassembled at the L bend for easier moving. desk has 4 drawers. Plus a 5th hidden pencil drawer. Rough dimensions are 34" deep. By 70 inches long, and 28" tall. Return is 48" long Credenza has 4 drawer as well as a covered center section with sliding doors. Credenza is 19" deep by 72" long.And 28" tall.

Up for auction and out of a local Charleston estate is this top shelf solid oak partner's desk which was originally owned by a Charleston. SC area businessman in the mid 1800's and possibly railroad desk based on the paperwork inside. Simple and with incredible attention to detail, this desk has three or four drawers per each side of the two pedestals. In addition, there are the top drawers all the way around(front and back) which are carved with quatrefoils which means"four leaves" in Latin. Quatrefoils are always in the shape of four circles which overlap equally.these are actually a quatrefoil carved on the inside of a carved quatrefoil. The drawer pulls on these are just ... morea carved out area under each drawer and all of them have this wonderful wear only achieved through 160 years plus of use. Each drawer is hand dovetailed and the bottoms are chamfered with the secondary wood of the drawers of oak. The two pedestal cases which hold either three or four drawers are also hand dovetailed.the cases themselves. At some point, the bottom two drawers of one side of each pedestal were professionally joined, literally, which makes these drawers great for legal size paper and folders. Whoever accomplished this did it without compromising the desk in any way. In fact, one is hard pressed to even know that these drawers are joined unless one already knows. The secondary wood is also quartersawn and straight sawn wood. There may be a piece or two of pine.not sure. The tooled leather top may or may not be original.if not, it is an old replacement and tooled with a shell design around the edges. It is black and there are a few scratches but nothing out of the ordinary. The sides are paneled with gorgeous quarter and straight sawn oak. Mahogany with a gleaming finish in excellent condition. There are only very minor mars at the edges. The top has panels of gold tooled leather. Drawers have solid oak dovetailed sides. Right and left top drawers have sliding tops for extra workspace. Original brass pulls and feet are distinctive on this American made vintage furniture, several knobs are loose at the joint.
