It doesn't effect how it types though. The handle on the outside box is gone, but this latches shut very securely. This will ship UPS and cannot be sent to a P.O. box. Basically this thing would type the information being sent to it via phone through the coupler. It types away when powered up in self test mode. That is all we can test only comes with what is pictured no other cords or accessories. It looks to have two plastic legs broke off one on either end opposite of each other. This Smith Corona is in really nice condition. The inside appears to be cosmetically excellent. The test demo was perfect. The outside does have discoloring. Believed to have belonged to a smoker but I did not detect an odor. Whatever the case this appears to me to be a choice piece of equipment. Ink is still vivid.
