You are looking at a vintage articulating drafting table task lamp. This lamp is mainly made of metal(shade and arms) and has a very nice mid-century appeal. This may be a luxo lamp. However there are no markings to indicate it for certain. STEEL IRON WOOD DRAFTING TABLE Vintage Mid Century Industrial Drawing Adjustable
Offering a stylish mid century drafting table which adjusts in height and angle of the top. The legs and framework are made of bent steel tubing. The black section on each upright that holds the vertical adjustment. The arcs that adjust the angle of the top, and the large hand screws that lock the adjustments are all cast iron. The top is pine with oak braces. Height adjustment ranges from 34" to 42" The roughly triangular end sections measure 26" front to back at the floor and 25" tall. The stretchers between the end sections are 48" The finish on the tubing is lightly rusted over most surfaces. The uprights that hold the top and slide up and down have been wire brushed to remove the rust to allow the buyer to see the contrast. The comparison can best be seen in photo 9. No further rust work will be done. The iron ... morepieces are all solid with no cracks or chips. The black crackle paint finish is peeling in several places. Those areas are lightly rusted. The pine wood top had a linoleum top glued to it. The linoleum had dried out and become brittle. So it was removed. Some of the adhesive still remains. The buyer can remove it for natural wood or apply a new vinyl cover. The top measures 60" x 36" The metal legs and framework will be disassembled for shipping.

Nice vintage desk lamp by Underwriters Laboratories. Puts out a lot of light and is in good vintage condition. As with all florescent lamps of this age you have to HOLD the ON button for a couple of seconds to let the starter turn on. I will ship with bulbs in it but please understand that they are USED and already have black edges meaning they will not last much longer or may not make it to you in usable condition. As seen in the pictures they both work now. Base is about 6" x 5.5" and lamp shade is about 19" x 3.5. Most items I sell are Antique or Vintage and are expected to show signs of previously being loved and enjoyed. There are no chips or cracks. However there are some utensil marks. Here is a vintage industrial metal drafting table. It was salvaged from the old General Motors plant in Linden. NJ. I'm guessing it is from the early 1940's based on design. It is constructed of metal with wooden side panels. The entire piece was painted in green at some point in the distant past. The table shows its age and use, lots of character! There was an aircraft blueprint found in the drawer, which is also included(during WWII, the GM plant produced fighter planes for the U.S. military. Attached is an articulated lamp in moving and working condition. Which also shows its age as you can see in the photos. Measurements of the table are as indicated in the last photo. This table was used at Fairchild Republic Aviation in Farmingdale New York until it closed in the late 1980's. Many aircrafts were designed there including the A-10 Warthog. Space Shuttle stabilizers, B-52 fuselage, F-4 Phantom tail sections, F-14 Tomcat tails, wing controls surfaces for 747s and 757s, T-46 and many more. This drafting table is solid. It is in very good condition and has normal age and wear. The solid wood base(W6'8" x D3' x H37" is solid oak with a deep mahogany stain& finish. TO SOAK OR NOT TO SOAK-THE SCRAPBOOK DILEMMA: Many of my valentines are rescued from old. Beat-up scrapbooks and while the fronts are in good condition, the backs often look horrible with chunks of scrapbook paper, dried glue and some areas of lifting of top paper layer(when card does not separate easily from the scrapbook page) I am not a fan of the soaking procedure: it's time-consuming and it's a very tricky business. Even if the soak is successful, often the cards never quite look the same: not as sharp and crisp, may show dye runs, ripple, etc. and they take forever to dry completely. Vintage cards and water are a bad mix. When it comes to choosing between a card that shows evidence of having come from a scrapbook and one showing that it has been drowned, I choose the former. Once my cards are in your hands. Of course you may choose to clean up the backs, but please proceed with care and instead of soaking the entire card, try an old toothbrush dipped in water to moisten the scrapbook residue on the back. Really unique combo of items. The bottom is an adjustable cast iron drafting table base and the top is a portable podium/lectern. The top is about 25" wide and 20" long. It is in great shape with nice lines. It has a tray for pencils and a ledge to catch and hold papers. I think it's a tiger oak or something along those lines. I don't know my wood types real well. The base is a cast iron drafting table tripod with wheels. It adjusts from about 25" to 40" tall. The top can swivel around and adjusts from a level position to about 135 degrees. Adjustable Drafting Table with Lamp and Swivel Chair for 18" Dolls
I purchased this drafting table and chair set a number of years ago. I used it as furniture for my 16" dolls(see first photo) but as you can see. The chair is too big for a 16" doll. The set appears to have been made for 18" dolls. The lamp adjusts but doesn't light up. The table has levers underneath on either side to adjust the tilt angle of the table. The chair swivels around. The set is made of metal(except the table top and chair back and seat) and is sturdy and heavy. The angle shown in the first photo is as high as the table will tilt. The second photo shows when it's flat. In excellent condition. The lamp has been detached for shipping and the screw in the table has been taped over to prevent it from getting lost. I purchased this lamp at a estate sale. It is not perfect. It does work. The lights have to be in there just right. You have to push the on switch all the way down. That might be the way it is suppose to be. Cosmetically it has some scratches. In the second picture you can see it has some paint knocked off on the edge of the shade. Up for auction is a lot of 6 vintage midcentury and earlier industrial drafting lamps for parts or restoration. These are all as-is. There are a lot of parts here even if some of the hoods are dented. Great ceramic sockets and twist switches. Arms and springs mostly good. There are two vintage brown drafting lamps and one of them is a rare hooded lamp that just needs the hood and part of the socket. Lamp people will recognize the fixtures here. No reserve. 99 cent start. I just want these in good hands. One has the arms that were jointed with large ball bearings. Only the brown florescent lamp has its table mount. I have a large drafting table with a heavy duty base that came out of the Gorman Rupp company. From the age of this table it most likely had helped produce the same pumps that are still in production today. I am not into drafting but from what I have read and talked to people Keuffel& Esser is top of the line. Vintage Floating Light Fixture Drafting Table Industrial Shop Desk Lamp
The fixture is 33 1/2" tall from the table top to the elbow. The light bulb housing is 19" long by 4 1/4" wide. It does not have a tag but it is very similar to the other one I have listed. It does work. It is vintage so it does have a few rust marks and dings from age and use. Nothing bad. The bottom joint is a little loose but will tighten up with a good twist on the wing nut.
