RESTORED - RARE-MACHINE AGE-INDUSTRIAL- ANTIQUE CAST IRON DRAFTING TABLE!
HELLO BIDDERS- No Reserve Auction! You are bidding on an AN ANTIQUE 1914 HAMILTON DRAWING BOARD! THIS IS AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF EARLY AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL MACHINE AGE FURNITURE. Most drawing boards of this period use oak as the frame but Hamilton typically uses Maple for the entire wood part of the frame. They usually cover the wood with a heavy black varnish and it is often in such bad condition that it has to be stripped. That was the case here but when I stripped the varnish I found a beautiful birds eye maple frame. The side rails and large center rail is beautiful. I triple sanded all of the wood and used wood conditioner to prepare the wood for the stain. I stained the pine top and maple frame with the same color but each wood takes the stain in different shades. The maple came out a gorgeous butterscotch color and the pine a beautiful ... morechestnut color. I then applied two coats of matte finish poly and sanded in between coats. It has a very durable finish and is ready for use as a drafting/art table. Dining room or boardroom table. I have one client who joined two together to use a boardroom table! I simply cleaned the cast iron parts leaving the original black paint and then shot them with four coats of clear. The table top measures 71 x 42 inches. The table adjusts up and down as well as tilts. The highest position is about 43 inches while the lowest position is about 34 inches. The table tilts to about an 85 degree angle. This table belonged to a West Palm Beach architect and has many years of use. The are many holes and cuts from the drafting equipment but it gives it great character and beauty. This is The smaller wood center cross support was nailed in but I had to remove the nails to restore it and they will have to stay out to ship. Vintage Dayton Floating Arm Industrial Drafting Steampunk Desk Table Lamp
This is one functional and fashionable lamp! Talk about heavy-duty. The base at the bottom is definitely weighted. This lamp works great! It comes with two bulbs- both of which are working. Assuming they travel fine in the mail- this alone will save you on cost as compared to the lamps that don't include the bulbs. This lamp also provides more light since it has two bulbs as I've noticed many just have one. It adjusts to just about any angle you'd like. Please note it does have a spot on the top of the lamp shade where the paint has rubbed off as pictured. It looks like someone had a piece of masking tape on there for years and finally removed it. It left some tape residue as well. But because the spot is on the backside of the lamp shade- it most likely won't show with the way you would typically place the lamp on a table ... moreor desk. It's not obnoxious or anything- and can just be chalked up to the character that comes with vintage items. Otherwise the lamp is in excellent vintage condition with just a minor spot or wear here and there. All metal awesome vintage grey industrial swing arm drafting lamp. Works like a dream. Lowers and raises with ease. I can not find a maker but there is a US pattent number as shown in picture. This was a well made lamp with a separate white bulb baffle. Cord is original without repairs and is unusual as its a 3 way ground plug. The table adjusts up and down and the table tilts like a drafting board. Both adjustments work well and hold tightly. Unit looks not to have been repainted. The base measures 12 wide at the caster wheel side on the stationary side it is 14 in wide. The base measures 20 ½ wide. For sale is a great Hamilton Drafting Table. Dating from the early 20th century it was known as a Hamilton Champion Drawing Table. The top measures 31" x 41 3/4" and the legs are 26" deep. The top is made of white pine with hardwood cleats. There is some old masking tape along the edges. Possibly cut down to this size. The top has pin holes and wear with a little discoloration. The base has the original black paint with appropiate wear. It operates well and lifts from 33" to 41 1/2" Great cast iron star handle and hardware. Up for bid is this large Dazor Industrial Fluorescent Lamp. From the base of lamp to where it bends it measures 28" H. From joint to shade it measures 13"L. Shade measures 18 1/2" W. This lamp is brown and the paint in good condition. The Label reads Dazor. Floating Fixture, P-2124-16,118V-60C St. Louis MO. In one of the pictures you can see it is on. It mounts to desk or table using 3 screws, which do not come with lamp. Neither do the bulbs because I do not want them to break. I got this at a yard sale in Sea Cliff, Long Island, and the man who used it was a very talented model ship builder.
