For sale is an adjustable oak desk chair that swivels. The hardware is from the early 1900's. Not sure on the exact year but on the base it is marked Pat Nov 30 1897. The base is also marked Cook Quality. I have not been able find one quite like this one. It is rustic yet shows very good. Solid craftsmanship. The style would make a nice addition to any style of office or home. Hardware is quite interesting and in good shape. There is a sticker on the underside of the seat showing a bell and on the bell is Local, Long Distance, Telephone. The sticker is also marked 2754. There is also on the bottom a round brass plate marked C 754. The wood is solid. Chair is very solid and usable. It apears that one of the adjustment knobs on the back has been lost and replaced with a bolt. Kit's desk is the roll type with a pull out writing table, 2 drawers and storage areas inside. The chair is a swivel one, a complete replica of that era. This was made for Kit, but could be used for any of the American Girl dolls. The desk has a small 1/4 inch scratch that is barely seen and the top drawer is removable and fits right back into its place. Display chair for bears or dolls. This has two chairs and it is a vintage style school desk. It has initials carved into it and I don't know if that's original to the desk or not. It also has what appears to be a crack on the desk. Dimensions are 25 1/2" long. 9 3/4" wide, 14" high, the seat is 9 3/4" long and 5" deep, the desk is 9 3/4" long and 6 3/4" deep. RARE Vtg Leather Armless Swivel Judge Attorney Desk Chair Tiger Walnut Base #1
For auction is one of two available rare leather armless attorney chairs from the 1940s. This chair was used in the old Ramsey County courthouse in Minnesota prior to its demolition in the 1980s. The lines of this chair have an elegant masculinity. And the tall back adds drama. It has its original shiny black leather upholstery, which has cracked and worn beautifully on the seats. Despite the cracks, there are no rips anywhere. The wear is otherwise minimal, with only minor scuffs along the edges, and a few areas of minor surface cracking on the backrest(see photos) The beautiful solid tiger walnut base is extremely well constructed, and has brass caps on the tips with a nice patina. The steel stock assembly has a nice bronzed finish and works properly; it tilts and raises up and down a couple inches on a threaded column. No major scratches ... moreor wear to the base. These chairs would look outstanding as a pair. So please see my other listing for its mate. I've never seen another chair quite like these, so don't them get away! Dimensions: The seat is 21.5" wide and 17.5" deep. The backrest is 21" tall(from the top of the seat) and 17" wide.
