It has been re-lacquered in its life, but retains crisp engraving. It features black Roo pads with Abalone key pearls. It has also had the thumb hook and thumb rest updated to Selmer modern specs for comfort and ease of playing. All mechanisms have been adjusted and regulated. Horn comes in a brand new with tags Protec Extra Large Contoured Pro Pac Case. The horn has a very centered tone with that classic American jazz sound. Also included is the original 1939 King mouthpiece(no ligature. It is white and is reminiscent of the classic Brilhart mouthpieces. Often open to debate but what has been told to me by a King specialty technician is that the 1939 King Zephyr and Zephyr Special shared everything regarding neck and bore. But the Special received extra pearl touches and enhanced engraving. The early Super 20 which debuted in 1939 was essentially a Zephyr Special with a solid silver neck which was gold lacquered but still shared the exact same neck size and bore size. Because of this. The King Zephyr from this time period are considered to be hidden gems due to the similarities that they shared with the Super 20 minus the cosmetics. Wont see too many of these around. Penzel-Mueller was a small company founded in 1899 by men from Germany but stopped making mouthpieces near wartime. On this piece the rails. Pads are older but playable. There is just a little play in some of the longer rods. Sax has never been overhauled but it is gig ready as is. Completely unique Martin Handcraft sax, this example dates to the very beginning of Martin Handcraft's manufacturing. They very much had this one right, the horn is astounding, both aesthetically, ergonomically, and sonically. I would argue that Al McLean is the best sax tech that there is. With all due respect to the other members of the creme-de-la-creme repair club. Al has carefully overhauled this instrument, giving it a thorough dynamic play test(or three) and making all of the fine adjustments it deserves. The horn now sports modern firm pads, traditional flat resonators, and other effective materials like wool felt, natural cork, and modern composite cork where needed. The end result is a horn that is so finely adjusted. That it rings like a bell when you snap the pads closed. Cosmetic condition is rated as Excellent+, with some minor nicks and signs of handling. To be perfectly honest, this one probably falls more into the realm of parts don or or wall hanger/lamp project. If you were to restore it. It woul d be a serious labor of love/learning pro ject to do so. There are no major dents. But there are a few small/medium sized ones on the bow. The body looks to have a slight ... morebanana bend to it. There are three key guard feet that need re-soldering. The nec k is bent down pretty badly. The high F key is broke n with the touch part mis sing. Several other key s( most notably the octave key) are bent. Although they are all moving/rebounding freely. All of the snap on reson ators are missin g. Oddly. The spuds all seem to be intact in the key cups. The spuds on this horn are the soldered in type. Buescher Aristocrat Tenor Saxophone (Series I - late 1930's), with orig. case
Up for auction is a Buescher Aristocrat tenor saxophone. With the original case. It has a 285, 4XX serial number which dates it to about 1938-39, the"Series I" period. This horn has most likely been re-lacquered, although the engraving on the bell is extremely sharp and crisp. The bell and bell lip area are in great shape. There are numerous re-soldered posts and a number of smaller dings and dents. It is currently in playing condition. With working pads and a decent set-up. It came from the estate of a gentleman that played it most of his life. It would likely need some fine-tuning and adjustments to meet your specific playing needs and I would suggest budgeting a few dollars(or time) to do so. The case has new locks/latches and the interior could use a bit of attention(re-glue a bit of lining and secure the accessories box) All ... morein all. SML professional tenor saxophone
Hello all, Up for your budding pleasure is a SML(Strasser Marigaux Lemaire) Tenor Saxophone. For those of you who haven't heard of the SML tenor saxophones I've done quite a research for you. These rare horns were made only from the late 1930's to the early 1980's(more or less) in Paris France. The company made all of their saxophones by hand. There were only about 25.000 made total(that means soprano, alto, tenor, and bari) Now. As far as the horn sounds. It has a very big, very responsive sound. I am actually currently a Bachelor of Music Education Major and my professor told me that in his opinion these horns would have beaten the selmer Mark vi had it not been for the old style fingerboard layout. As a result, estimated retail value on them is about $3600. This horn has about 75% to 85% of it's original lacquer. A ... morereal beauty. I an only selling it because I recently came across a mark vi within my budget and snatched it up. There are no dents on the horn. A couple of minor scratches. The thumb rest did fall off and I had it replaced. There is also a key guard that is off the horn that I will have in the case. It will just need to be reattached. My repairmen said it was an easy fix though. I had some of the pads and leaks fixed up on the horn last week and it is now in great playing shape. Vintage Brilhart Tenor Saxophone Ligature,3-Band,White Plastic Reed Plate
THIS LISTING DOES INCLUDE THE MOUTHPIECE YOU SEE IN THE PHOTOS. BUT I'M CONSIDERING IT A FREE INCENTIVE. I'M CONSIDERING THIS AUCTION TO BE ONLY FOR THE LIGATURE! ANY PROBLEMS OR ISSUES YOU HAVE WITH THE WAY THE MOUTHPIECE PLAYS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED A LEGITIMATE REASON FOR A RETURN/REFUND. That being said. The mouthpiece really doesn't play very well at all, but it does play. But the ligature is still good to go. Works like a charm. The bottom band on the right side of the ligature was damaged and had to be removed. This doesn't affect the way the ligature rests on any of the hard rubber mouthpieces I have tried it on. It works on Otto Link Tone Edge, Selmer Soloists(short and long shank) Meyer, and of course Brilhart Tonalins, Ebolins, and Hard Rubber pieces. Here is a vintage Arnold Brilhart heavy gauge three metal banded. ... moreWhite plastic reed plate, and black plastic ended thumb screws. It has the number 4 stamped on the bottom of the inner part of the reed plate. The reason I've been describing this item as a bari/tenor ligature is because I'm not 100% sure which one it was actually manufactured for. I've been informed by a Brilhart accessory expert that the"4" stamp means that it is meant for hard rubber tenor mouthpieces. But this ligature does also work on some slimmer hard rubber baritone saxophone mouthpieces. Tenor mouthpieces that I've played it on have been: Vintage Selmer long scroll shank soloist style. Vintage Conn Steelay hard rubber, newer Gary Sugal hard rubber, and vintage Made in New York Meyer medium chamber hard rubber mouthpieces. I also believe this ligature would work on Vandoren, Otto Link, Brilhart, and most other medium to large chamber tenor sax mouthpieces. I believe it would be a bit to large for slimmer model hard rubber tenor pieces such as Berg Larsen, Francois Louis, and Dukoff. Baritone mouthpieces that I've played it on have been: Modern model Selmer C* Vintage Brilhart Ebolin, and newer model Meyer medium chamber hard rubber mouth

ONE OF A KIND!!! G. H. Hüller Tenor Saxophone with Nazi Fluting
Up for auction is a 1939 GH Huller Tenor Saxophone. This isn't just any German made tenor sax. This is one that was used during WW2 as an instrument of propaganda. It is marked with the nazi fluting. The picture shows the engraving very clearly. It was not added 30 years later. It is authentic to the period. If you youtube Charlie and his Orchestra you will be able to listen to propaganda music from the nazis. There were very strict rules concerning the type of music that could be played. It is actually a very interested area of study. The provenance of this instrument is amazing and endless. It could have played at parties, marches, small ensembles, welcoming dignitaries or the obvious, Nazi leaders. There is no saying what this instrument has been through. I had a pro tech look at it and he said with some work it would be a great player. ... moreWhich was not something I figured I'd here. He said it is based a lot on the conn of the time. It has the micro tuner neck. Research of the tenor itself says it was ahead of its time mechanically. To find a huller in this condition is rare. To find one like this is almost impossible. I was able to track down an alto sax huller with the same markings. I will post better quality pictures when I get a chance. This is absolutely one of the historical musical instruments of the 20th century. I look forward to answering any questions you may have. Vintage Steve Broadus Tenor Saxophone Mouthpiece Perfected Model S3
This is one of the best vintage hard rubber mouthpieces I have ever played. It has a closed tip opening(not sure what the exact measurements are. But feels as closed as a selmer C/B* Larry Teal) so you will need to use a pretty hard reed when you play it. I used Vandoren blue box 3.5 and they felt just a little too soft. I still got a pretty big phat sound, but the feel had almost no back pressure at all. Then again, I've always preferred mouthpieces with alot of back pressure. So this might be perfect for those out there looking for a very free blowing piece. It's a very versatile mouthpiece. Not too bright, but not overly dark. It's kind of a good blend of the brightness and projection of a Meyer hard rubber mouthpiece but with the phat rounded slightly warm quality of a Brilhart Hard Rubber piece. As you can see from the photos, ... moreit's been well taken care of, but was still used very frequently as indicated by the ligature and reed"shadow" Other then the discoloration, I can't really point out anything of any real significance in regards to condition. It's in fantastic condition. The photos tell the whole story. I believe this is a large or maybe even a medium large chambered piece, with deeply rounded side walls, and a low baffle. The legendary Conn 10m tenor saxophone 'Lady Face' COMPLETE OVERHAUL
This is Conn 10M Lady face tenor saxophone. This one has the rolled tone holes. Dated 1935 and in good condition. Complete overhaul in December 2012. It plays very well. With a nice rich tone, on my Otto Link 7* I have been told by the tech that it was relacquered around the 1950's. This is a players horn. It has the odd dink but nothing serious.
