Up for bid is an unusual Marconi era crystal radio receiver set. I’m guessing it’s from the early teens but I don’t really know. It has three front dials and is in a wood case. I couldn’t find any makers marks on it or any other identification marks. It measures approximately 11 ½ inches long by 4 inches tall by 4 inches wide. The interior looks to be in good shape. One screw is missing on the top. There are no tubes inside. I haven’t figured out a way to test it. So it is being sold as is. See pictures for a better idea of condition.

Old telephone candlestick receiver, with cord, part brass, part cardboard
There are no markings or names on this old telephone receiver. So we do not know where it came from. But it is in good condition for its age. It stands 5 1/2" with 29" of woven cord. The last few inches of cord are stripped from its sheath. The ear piece is 2 1/2" wide and the small hole in the center which should be but is not covered with a 1/2" wide cover. The 3 1/2" candlestick which one would actually hold is, or looks a lot like, cardboard, even feels like it. It is paiinted black and is in quite good condition. Ala in all, it is an unusual piece. Might not even be old. Might be foreign-made. We are quite ig norant of it's past. Nice looking, thought, and it could be a treasure. Who knows? I hope someone out there does. This auction is for my Beomaster 5000 Receiver which is in really very good condition. Both cosmetically and operationally. It comes with the original box and packaging and user manual in its black envelope. Please check out the photos to see the excellent cosmetic condition. Even the top surface. Which can suffer when system 5000 components are stacked, is really clean, with a couple of minor scratches. The shading on the top plastic section which you may notice in the photos is from polishing- it's unblemished in reality. Unlike many of these that are listed. This is fully checked out as it's come from my working system, which I've decided to sell while I build another older vintage system(and I've still got a Beosystem 5500 in one room) Prior to listing. I've checked both pairs of speaker outputs(including mute function ... moreon speaker output 1) control via the drop down control panel and the remote Master Control Panel, input and output via DIN and RCA connectors, including Phono, tape and aux and radio in AM& FM. It's had one repair recently- for those who know these. A weakness is the foil ribbon between the drop down panel and the main circuit board connector. This has been replaced with a more durable modern ribbon cable. The drop down panel opens by pushing the left lower corner of the front panel. Which unlatches a relay. Lowering is damped by a cord& spring mechanism. Sometimes the flap needs easing down from part open with a finger tip. It does not stick. Overall a great piece of Danish design.
